Hey guys,
I thought I would share pics of some of my latest receivings just in time for Christmas. As you probably know by now, I like to share pics of and encourage discussion about older Jakks Pacific figures with everyone, and I hope some of you will relive nostalgic memories while contributing to the thread.
So, without wasting your Christmas Eve any longer, here are my latest receivings and I hope you enjoy the pics.
First, I bought this BCA Fully Loaded 4-pack MIB about a month ago but didn't have pics to show for in my last similar thread; I bought it from an eBay seller for about $8-9 shipped.
Next, I bought this lot of three BCA 2 Tuff 2-packs for only $12 shipped, which was a Buy It Now deal I couldn't pass up. Included in the lot was 2 Tuff Series 1 Truth Commission (Interrogator & Rekon), 2 Tuff Series 2 Nation of Domination (Kama Mustafa & D'Lo Brown), and 2 Tuff Series 5 Viscera and Undertaker. For some reason, I've always liked the Viscera and Undertaker set, and the other two tag teams are top-notch as well.
Next, I bought this lot of several MOC BCA figures for only $15 shipped, which is arguably one of the best deals I've ever gotten on eBay. Included in the lot is Superstars Series 1 Bret Hart, Diesel and Razor Ramon, as well as the complete Managers Series 1 set featuring Sable & Marc Mero, Paul Bearer & Mankind, Bob Backlund & The Sultan, and Clarence Mason & Crush. I've since opened the Bret, but the others I'm keeping MOC for now (as well as the three 2 Tuff sets above ^) since I already own each loose.
Same back carding for all (minus the individual names in the bottom right corner), so I only took one pic to save space.
A closer look at the protos for Managers Series 1 on the back carding...
Lastly, since this isn't a massive post like usual, I thought I would take extensive pics for my next receiving. I just got this in the mail today and was very glad as I had been anticipating its arrival for about two weeks now. I bought the first ever Jakks Pacific ring, the Monster ring, MIB for only $18 shipped on eBay. The ring originally was introduced in the 1980s for the LJN line of figures, but was brought back in 1996 as Jakks Pacific's first ring for the BCA figure line.
The necessary changes to make it accomodate the BCA line were hardly made, as the only differences between this ring and the '80s LJN ring is updated box art (which I think looks awesome all-around) and new ring apron stickers (featuring logos of Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series ppv events). Unfortunately, the LJN blue steel cage accessory was never brought to the BCA line, which would have made the ring even more fun as a kid in the mid-90s. Regardless, here are many MIB and loose pics of the ring, and I hope to add the Raw Is War Monster ring to my BCA collection once again as well. Although, I could do without having to put together any more Monster rings, as this makes the RSR seem like a piece of cake.
MIB front and sides
MIB back
Poor Goldust
Reminds me so much of the old Playstation In Your House game graphics...
Loose base
Loose stickers, instructions, ring posts & turnbuckles, and ring ropes
Loose complete (it took long enough lol...)
Ropes are better scaled to DA figures, oddly enough, than RA and BCA figures (despite being intended for BCA figures, the scale was always way off, and still is with RA and DA figures).
There is plenty of room for figures of all sizes to compete in the Monster ring.
Monster ring...meet Real Scale ring...
As you can tell, the Monster ring is easily the second biggest Jakks ring to date. The RSR base stands merely centimeters taller than the Monster ring, too. Although, even as a massive BCA fan, I have to admit that the RSR is heaps and bounds better than the Monster ring, but I love it for nostalgic reasons and had to buy it when I had the chance.
Well, that's it for now, and I hope the pics didn't take too long to load.
Oh, and Merry Christmas to everyone.
