what are your opinions on some matches in ... lets say the last 3-4 years that never really get mentioned as great matches and why.
I thought of this because I put on Orton v. HBK from Cyber Sunday 2007 and man, that match is awesome. Sure, the ending is a lame DQ ending, but the match itself is excellent. The wrestling is smooth, fast-paced. There's a lot of cool reversals and spots and the psychology and suspense is just great. It was a very old-school, classic style match.
Opinions?

Bobby Lashley vs. John Cena from the GAB 2007.
It wasn't the best match ever, but it was A LOT better than I expected it to be.

Bobby Lashley Batista vs. John Cena from the GAB 2007 Summerslam 2008. It wasn't the best match ever, but it was A LOT better than I expected it to be. |

I agree with Michaels vs. Orton from Cyber Sunday 2007 but I thought their match from Survivor Series was even better. It also amazes me how little credit is given to Batista vs. Triple H in Hell in the Cell from Vengeance 2005 when talking about great recent matches.

I remember that match, I believe Trish was managing Val at the time, and if it's the right match I remember it wasn't bad at all. I'd say one would be CM Punk vs John Morrison vs The Miz - Survivor Series 2007. Deserve major praise as all three men worked their asses off. |

Jericho Vs. Hardy- IC Match
The match was PPV quality and it ave Jericho his 8th IC run. For a face vs. face match it was very very good.

Man do I miss cheater boxes. ;D I thought of one, although it's up for grabs. Raw Main Event, Trish Stratus vs Lita. One of the more meaningful main events I can remember and both women secure their legacys and put on a classic match. It was the one when Rikishi squashed Val after jumping off the cage. |

Yeah, it was in 2002, a few years of your radar but I felt it was a fantastic match that never gets mentioned.

Bobby Lashley vs. John Cena from the GAB 2007. YES. I had no interest in that match whatsoever, but it turned out to be fantastic. I was gobsmacked watching it. Lots of people ignored the last 3 or 4 years bit of the question, didn't they? "Well, I rather liked El Matador vs Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 8, if that counts..." |

Chris Benoit vs. William Regal from Velocity in July of 2005
Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio on Smackdown in June of 2005 (the night where Batista got drafted.) A 25 minute match on free TV and their best match against each other that is not their Halloween Havoc 97 match

There was a really good Charlie Haas vs Jimmy "Akio" Yang on Heat once, shortly after Haas got rehired (2006?) but before Yang did. Might've been that match that got him rehired, actually.

I forgot which RAW it was but it was Christian vs Randy Orton. I remember it being a really good back and forth match that was really awesome.
Hmm...another would have to be Rey Mysterio vs Ultimo Dragon back in Smackdown of 03 or 04. It was their first encounter in the WWE I believe as well.
Also adding to that would have been Eddie Guerrero vs Ultimo Dragon and I think it was in the first round of the WWE U.S. Title Tournament.

I never really hear people talking about the Mike Awesome vs Masato Tanaka match from ONS 05. I really enjoyed that match.
