Reinvention Part III
A New Life; A New Man
I could hear the crowd as I walked down the ramp, they didn’t know me. Begun in silenced and ended in cheers, I could feel their life in me. Their words, movement, and, screams all pushing me to end. End in Victory; Beginning of a new Understanding. I have only one victory but one pushes me for another and another after that. I have no sure idea of what I am doing but it feels right and that’s enough for me at this point.
==================================
My muscles ached; my head throbbed with both anxiety and apprehension. Well that and the lump that seemed to be increasing mass with every beat of my heart. I massaged gently and went back to what I had been doing. I had been writing or scribbling more so then actual writing. I definitely didn’t fancy myself a writer in any sense and only used such a tool as outlet for my thoughts once the flood gates started to bulge.
The phone shook upon the next; I snatched it up and flipped it open quickly. The voice on the other in was of a soft tone and of kind intentions at first listen. I swallowed, my mouth had gone dry. “Hello, is this Tristan?”
“Yes, this is the greatness that is Twilight,” my confidence was less the convincing as usual, “how are you?”
“Good enough, though I feel a little more then interested in the coming event, if you get my meaning.” The voice hinted towards something I knew all to well was coming and the sound of the voice gave way to a mix of emotions.
“I got ya and I can’t wait myself but yea I got to go.”
“No problem, bye.”
I closed the phone; I had learned over time that when I am ahead with such a species, I should then let them go before I ruin the idealism of it all. I went back to my wri-scribbling.
==================================
I rushed out the door; I have got caught up within myself and forgot about my appointment with my friend. Friend maybe a bit too strong of a word but I was a bit of a protégé of his anymore. Regardless, I was late and that would bring about many of grave consequences. My mind had been wandering back to the days within those walls. I had all but forgotten them till just recently. I guess when you’re not eating and have little to think on, but that of an empty stomach, you don’t realize what all has truly happened.
The cab had made his way on time it was I who had forgotten of his existence. The fact he had stayed was a miracle but no less I pointed him in the right direction and tried to relax as we moved forward to the standard spot.
The car raced as did my mind but my mental movement had no breaks. I could feel what was left of this mornings breakfast rise into my throat; I swallowed hard. I always fear these things with him but being late was something he didn’t like at all, he was a punctual man and had held an office in WFWF once long ago. Basically, I was lucky he gave me anytime. But I never felt lucky as much as obligated to be his apprentice, but I can’t deny, I won last week because of his harsh training.
==================================
“I will only tell you this once, woman or not should be of no concern to you. The match is a match booked and will be wrestled regardless of your so called convictions.” His words only complimented the demeanor being pushed by his eyes. “I mean do you really assume that she will respect you? No, she will find you but another challenge, another step in her journey. You mean nothing to her and you would do well to take much consideration into this.”
What did he know, he didn’t know her at least I didn’t think so. He was a loner, I could tell that much by the way he had reacted. He didn’t trust anyone or anything and had no true concern for another life anymore. He told me at some point things were different but that’s where he had stopped himself, short of showing his entrails.
“Hey,” I felt the back of his hand connect with my face, I felt numb at first but then came the sting, “stop day-dreaming, this is neither the time nor the place for it you idiot, now did you understand what I told you? Don’t show her weakness, you would do well to walk into that place the same way you did last week and walk out again the victor then to let down your guard as you obviously have.”
“Yea, I got it, Jesus!” His eyes turned sour and his face fell in line. He took a momentary pause before responding to my words. They had startled him, but why?
“Never and I mean never use that name in my presence again. If you wish to pray or swear to such a name you will do it only on your own, not around me.” Tone cold and dead serious without any complication in his words, I was lost. I said nothing more that day, worked hard but said nothing.
==================================
I walked out the door, gloom still aligning my soul. I had upset him; I put it out of my head and pushed forth only his words. He had told me not to let my guard down and not to let myself to seek out anyone except for him. He was half right, maybe not completely due to his own life but I could not allow her being of Eve hinder my goals and dreams. I had put way too much into all this and I did not wish to lose it all this quickly. I made my way down the street, head down, mind wandering as usual. I pulled from my pocket the scribbling I had done before. I let it go gently to the ground, not stopping to pick it back up.

Dear,
Mom
I know its been awhile but life has changed for me since everything with Liz. I know you probably do not want to see me and have probably had a few calls pertaining to me. Don't worry, I am fine but I miss you, dad, and Kay. I thought about showing up a few times but I know you all would probably just freak out and I would end up right back where I was.
The reason I am writing this is because of my new job and new life. I know I told you that I would never hit a woman again but I can not get out of it this time I am so so so sorry that I am breaking my promise both to you and myself. Please forgive me.
Signed,
Trist
