WCW Monday Nitro, Monday 24th April 2000...Solid opening tag team cruiserweight action to kick off Monday Nitro this week. Juventud Guerrera and Psychosis teaming together...haha, just have to laugh at that. Would of loved if Juvi and Psychosis of won, but Dean Malenko and Rey Misterio Jr winning is fine. Good promo with Scott Hall, looking forward to Hall taking on Ric Flair, even if Hall will almost definately not win at WCW Slamboree. Filler action between Sean O'Haire and Norman Smiley, Saturday Night worthy. Solid match between Eddie Guerrero and Konnan, good old heat between those two. Kevin Nash beating Shawn Stasiak is fine, way to get Nash over. Awesome six-man tag team main event to close down the show. Seemed decent, yet a bit short.
WCW Thursday Thunder, Thursday 27th April 2000...Decent opening match to start off, but it wasn't anything special. Hope you get Billy Kidman up the card and start using him on the Monday Nitro league of cruiserweights. Good promo by Bret Hart, seems very Vince-Russo like to talk about Scott Steiner's steroid usage. Mark Jindrak getting a push is fine, just give Hugh Morrus some good offense and I'm good. Raven beating Fit Finley is fine, seems like it'd be a solid contest. Rob Van Dam beating Steven Regal is fine, good match there. Also, solid main event, WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Ric Flair getting the win over Disco Inferno.
WCW Saturday Night, Saturday 29th April 2000...Joey Matthews opening up is good, winning? Wow, that's pretty sweet. Hope you start getting Terry Funk up the card, he seems like he'd start retiring now, so there's an interesting angle you could work with. Good defense against Johnny the Bull, though. Perfect Event getting a push is fine. Decent main event, Buff Bagwell needs to start getting up the card a bit, also.

Solid opening match between the two young guys. Funk winning is fine, like I said, it's tough to do anything with the hardcore title. RVD/Eddie should be nice. I like FOF but younger guys going over was the right call. Fine ending to the show, actually thought Lane would win.

World Championship Wrestling presents Nitro 5-1-2000 From: Birmingham, AL Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan welcome everyone to WCW Nitro and promote WCW Slamboree that takes place in six days. Schiavone quickly hypes up the main event which will see Scott Hall taking on Sting. Heenan wonders if their opponents at the PPV will get involved (Flair and Jarrett). Schiavone mentions a huge ten man tag team match with Eddie Guerrero, Chris Kanyon, Mike Sanders, Mike Awesome and Lance Storm taking on RVD, Perry Saturn, Dustin Rhodes, Chris Benoit and Booker T. Heenan believes that will be nothing but chaos. Schiavone lastly mentions that Juventud Guerrera has decided to use his re-match clause against Dean Malenko possibly putting the Malenko/Mistero match at Slamboree in jeopardy. Heenan believes Juventud will win the belt back. Schiavone sends it over to David Penzer to start the show. Opening Contest: © Dean Malenko versus Juventud Guerrera WCW Cruiserweight Championship Guerrera motions to Malenko that he will be winning “his” belt back. Gene says he has security out here because he doesn’t know what could happen when he brings out both Scott Steiner and Bret Hart. Gene introduces Bret Hart first and introduces Scott Steiner first. Steiner enters the ring and gets right into Hart’s face. Hart just smirks at Steiner as Gene begins to speak, again. Gene promotes their match WCW Slamboree as “former champion against a future champion.” Hart doesn’t like the statement of a “former” and corrects Gene by saying a “great champion.” Steiner also takes exception to the statement by saying he was screwed over by Hart at Spring Stampede in his quest to be the best. Steiner always knew Canadians were quitters, but he never knew that Canadians would give up to a elderly old man in the center of the ring. Hart says he is man enough to know when he lost, but he isn’t man enough to go into a match against Scott Steiner and even be asked “what if you lose to Scott Steiner?”. Gene asks why is that. Hart says he wouldn’t be able to live with himself knowing that he lost to someone who isn’t WCW World Heavyweight Championship material. Hart doesn’t see Steiner as a threat, but rather just someone trying to get noticed at his expense. Steiner doesn’t need to get noticed, he says. He only cares about one thing, and that’s all his freaks. Steiner tells Hart that he will regret ever taking him on at Slamboree because Steiner will beat Hart up so badly, he will go back Canada to be with his fellow quitters. Hart gets right in Steiner’s face and delivers a forearm. Steiner comes back to tackle Hart but they are quickly broken up by security. Security is trying to regain control as the segment ends. Ad for Slamboree on May 7th, 2000. Commercials Second Contest: Shane Douglas versus Lash LeRouxKimberly distracts LeRoux early on and allows Douglas to gain the advantage, that he wouldn’t lose. Douglas plants LeRoux with a spinning back suplex and a reverse neck breaker. Douglas comes off the ropes and plants LeRoux with the Franchiser. Douglas ends the match with the Pittsburgh Plunge. **½ After the match, Diamond Dallas Page appears on Nitro Vision. Page says he can’t wait for WCW Slamboree in six days to get his hands on Shane Douglas and that witch of a ex wife, Kimberly for turning on him. As the video continues to play, DDP comes through the crowd and rolls into the ring. Douglas is watching something that pre-recorded! Page spins Douglas around and delivers the Diamond Cutter. Page grabs his ex wife Kimberly and goes for the Diamond Cutter as well as the crowd is going crazy, but WCW Tag Team Champions, Bigelow and Candido run down and attack Page. Bigelow plants Page with the Greetings from Asbury Park and Candido connects with the New Jersey Jam. Eric Bischoff enters the room and his clapping for them, rather sarcastically. Bischoff asks Bigelow and Candido if they have found any suitable challengers for their belts, which they say they hadn’t. Bischoff lets them know they he has found challengers for WCW Slamboree in six days. Bigelow and Candido laugh at start naming teams they have beaten. Bischoff says that it’s a team that currently isn’t on WCW television. Bigelow and Candido don’t like the sound of that and Bischoff wishes them luck while still sarcastically cheering them on. Commercials A taped promo by Raven is shown. Raven is sitting at a table in the hallway at a merchandize table. Raven wonders why no one buys his shirts and no one brings signs. Raven says he is the guy representing the action that no one would ever dream of doing themselves. Raven will soon do what needs to be done to be noticed. Raven looks down at the table to close the scene. Cut to Gene in Eric Bischoff’s office. Gene asks Bischoff what he is going to do about the WCW United States Championship. Bischoff lets Gene know that he has come to a decision. He knows that Chris Benoit and Lance Storm have had two battles go to draws or no finishes, but at Slamboree it will not be a rematch of that contest. Instead, at WCW Slamboree, it will be Chris Benoit defending the WCW United States Championship against Lance Storm, Mike Awesome and Booker T in a four corners match. Commercials Fourth Contest: Eddie Guerrero/Mike Awesome/Lance Storm/Chris Kanyon/Mike Sanders versus RVD/Chris Benoit/Booker T/Perry Saturn/Dustin Rhodes The referee couldn’t keep order as all ten men just went all over the place. Booker and Awesome brawl through the crowd with each man throwing the other into a series of empty seats vacated by fans. Guerrero and RVD connect their signature moves, with Guerrero controlling RVD with a brain buster, jumping tornado DDT and a springboard missile dropkick. RVD nails Guerrero with a step over heel kick, rolling thunder and a standing moonsault for a near fall. The finish saw Mike Sanders rolling into the ring avoiding Rhodes and is met with the Crossface by Benoit. Sanders is forced to tap out. ***¼ After the match, all ten men continue to brawl until the camera cuts to the backstage area. Backstage, Sting is getting ready for his match against Scott Hall in his locker room. WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Ric Flair walks in and greets Sting. Flair lets Sting know that he will be watching the match and lets Sting know he has his back. Sting appreciates that as Flair leaves. Commercials Main Event: Sting versus Scott Hall Hall throws his toothpick right into Sting’s face. Sting takes exception to this and delivers several right hands. Sting with a couple of clotheslines and goes for a bulldog but Hall spins around and connects with a clothesline of his own. Hall sends Sting into the ropes and takes Sting down with a fall away slam. Hall with a side slam and signals for a jackknife power bomb even doing Nash’s taunt. Hall takes too much time and is back dropped down by Sting. Sting lifts Hall up and drives Hall down with a gorilla press slam. Hall backs himself into the corner and Sting connects with the Stinger Splash. Sting has the momentum, and at this point, we see Jeff Jarrett coming down to the ring. Sting charges towards Hall again for the Stinger Splash but doesn’t see Jarrett hiding behind Hall and is nailed with a guitar. The referee sees this and calls for the bell. **¾ After the match, the referee is taken out with The Stroke by Jarrett. Ric Flair comes running down with a steel chair and runs Hall and Jarrett off. Flair checks on Sting. Jarrett heads to the back while Hall remains on the entrance ramp taunting Flair. Hall walks up the ramp and sees… Kevin Nash. Hall has a stare down with Nash as the announcers promote WCW Slamboree to end the show. End of show.

Pretty predictable for Malenko to win, but I like the rematch clause idea. Douglas winning is good, can't wait to see how you pull off the triple cage. Surprised Rey wasn't the victor in his match. Wonder where you're going with Raven, it's interesting. Multi-man match was a good way to get people on the show. Main event ending was fine, no reason for a guy in that position to job.

Solid win for Mysterio before his PPV match. JJ/Sting is going to be so good, can't wait. Love the team of Disco/Wright, glad they won. Oh well, Harris lost again. Gotta pay his dues. Nice title defense there for Saturn since he doesn't have a PPV match. Like the fact that Eddie's shot is a big deal so it seems legit when it actually comes. Fine win for Nash there.

Malenko/Mysterio was a great way to open the PPV with a nice fast paced match, match sounded great, kinda wished Mysterio would've won as I kinda wish Malenko moves on to bigger and better things. Saturn/Kanyon was fine for a TV Title match, wasn't anything special, but wasn't anything bad, the Matthews interference was good and I hope Kanyon gets a push. Kronik returning is cool, seems like a good choice of mystery opponents, the DQ finish was fine as it makes Kronik look good in their return but doesn't hot shot the belts to them. RVD/Guerrero was good, the Guerrero push is great and it was nice to see that continue looking forward to seeing Guerrero's title match. Fatal 4 way for the US Title was another good match, nice to see all men made to look good and look forward to seeing where you head with all 4. The Triple Cage match sounded insane, great stuff. The Diamond Cutter spot sounded sick, but yet not too over the top, good to see Page pick up the win. Steiner/Hart is definitely an interesting match-up. Sounded like a solid match, nice to see an unconvincing victory and a pissed off Steiner. Sting/Jarrett is another intruiging match up. Again well written, would've liked to of seen Jarrett win, but the end leaves the door open for a rematch. Main event was a good way to close out the show, good way to make Hall look good, Flair though seemed the obvious choice to retain.
Overall good stuff top to bottom, the writing was great and the booking was solid although I think the show lacked a title change or 2 since all champions retained to make a really good show. Anyway good stuff, looking forward to GAB.

Monday Nitro...May 1st 2000...Good opening contest in the rematch from WCW Uncensored and Spring Stampede. Hopefully this is Juventud Guerrera and Dean Malenko's final encounter. Been done a little too much, now, in my opinion. Good clean WCW World Cruiserweight Championship defense by Malenko, however. Decent promo between Bret Hart and Scott Steiner, looking forward to their match at Slamboree, but it won't be too good. Decent way to get Shane Douglas over, by having him beat somebody like Lash LeRoux. Good tag team match with Billy Kidman and Rey Misterio Jr & Vampiro and Crowbar, but I hate the pairing of Vampiro and Crowbar, don't like Misterio losing before his WCW World Cruiserweight Championship match on Sunday. Wow, solid ten man tag team match to semi-main event the show. Decent, but not spectacular main event with Sting beating Scott Hall to close down Nitro.
Thursday Thunder...May 4th 2000...Decent opening contest, regains Misterio Jr's credibility before his match on Sunday against Dean Malenko. Shannon Moore you should try giving a mini-push. He definately needs it more than Chris Harris. Wow, decent promo between Jeff Jarrett and Sting. Okay tag team match, but nothing too special or anything. Wow, Shawn Stasiak going over Chris Harris after Harris beat Steven Regal? Unsure about that. Good WCW World Television Championship defense by Perry Saturn. At least Joey Matthews had a shot. Okay main event with Kevin Nash beating Steven Regal.
Saturday Night...May 6th 2000...Solid opening contest between AJ Styles and Elix Skipper. Seemed like a good match, hope you begin to give Skipper a mini-push. Good match between Vampiro and Kaz Hayashi, but nothing special. Glad Lash LeRoux actually went over somebody, beating a rookie Christopher Daniels. Good six-man tag team main event to close down the show, interesting to have the Natural Born Thrillers go over.
Slamboree...May 7th 2000...Amazing opening contest to kick off WCW Slamboree on pay-per-view. I love that Dean Malenko went over Rey Misterio Jr to retain the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship, this diary is so different, in a good way. Solid WCW World Television Championship defense by Perry Saturn against Chris Kanyon, I'd love Kanyon and Raven to feud again. Good to see Joey Matthews make an appearance, beating down Saturn. Solid WCW World Television Championship match. Kronik returning is pretty good, but thye weren't too grand in the ring. Amazing match between Eddie Guerrero and Rob Van Dam, not convinced by Guerrero looking too much of a main eventer, personally. Hope you build him up even more before his WCW World Heavyweight Championship match at Great American Bash. Solid WCW US Heavyweight Championship four-way match, very hot match. Would of loved Booker T or Mike Awesome to win, to be honest. Hope you begin pushing Booker T up the card even more. Awesome Triple Cage match between Shane Douglas and Diamond Dallas Page. Only complaint is that I feel the match should of been used on a more important match. Or have DDP/Douglas main event. Don't like seeing a stipulation like that on a midcard. Fairly decent match between Scott Steiner and Bret Hart but nothing special. Decent match between Jeff Jarrett and Sting. Solid main event, Ric Flair retaining the WCW World Heavyweight Championship is fine and predictable. Seemed like a slightly overpacked card in my opinion, but it was good.

Sharp graphics there. Great opening match, wonder if they'll have a rematch at all. Saturn is having a pretty credible title reign overall. Finish to the tag title match was pretty meh, not too keen on a rematch but oh well. Eddie winning makes sense since he has an upcoming title match. Like how Benoit/Storm is being prolonged here. Triple Cage match sounded sick, wonder if the feud is completely done. Glad Hart won, finish opens up for a rematch possibly. Too bad Sting won, but glad JJ got his heat back. Fine ending to the show as well. Good show overall, just felt there were too many things happening in the post-match.

The graphics with title belts look ing awful. Anyway, Malenko winning was great. I'm glad that you're pushing him. I'm actually surprised how much you're pushing Saturn. I didn't see any of his WCW work and only seen his WWF work, and to be honest, he was pretty much a jobber after The Radicalz. Eddie winning was the right decision since he has a World Title shot soon. I can't see Eddie being the one to dethrone Flair, though. I expected Page to win since Douglas won the last encounter. As much as I enjoyed Douglas and Page's feud, I really do hope it's over now. I can see Steiner/Hart happening at the next PPV but with Steiner winning the next encounter. Didn't see Hall winning the title. I can see Steiner eventually dethroning Flair.

-lol at Schiavone calling it the "biggest PPV in history" -Have to agree that the belts look awful, but other than that, the graphics are really good -Awesome, awesome, awesome opener, love you for having Malenko retain -Don't like Saturn retaining, really wish that Kanyon won. I mean who's better than him? -Post match beating from Kanyon & Matthews was good though -Yay for the Kronik return. I liked the way the match ended because it kept Kronik looking strong -Looked like Guerrero/RVD stole the show, which I expected. Glad Eddie won -Surprised to see Benoit retain, was hoping Awesome would get the win. Good match though -Enjoyed the Triple Cage, some sick spots there, especially the Diamond Cutter. Was pulling for Douglas, but I can see why DDP went over -Awesome to see Bret get the win, especially with an inside cradle. Keeps Steiner looking strong -Sting winning was good, match wasn't anything special -Another lackluster match, but good to see Flair retain
Good PPV, still enjoy this diary and can't wait for GAB

World Championship Wrestling presents Nitro 5-8-2000From: St. Louis, MO Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan welcome everyone to this edition of WCW Nitro. Schiavone plugs “what had to be the greatest PPV in recent memory” WCW Slamboree 2000 which occurred last night. Schiavone mentions how all the champions retained their belts and specifically hypes up Ric Flair. Bobby Heenan chimes in and lets tells Schiavone to not forget about Eddie Guerrero who has a title shot at the Great American Bash on June 11th. Schiavone continues by saying that since Bret Hart won last night against Scott Steiner, he has been given a world heavyweight title shot. Heenan believes it is more of him using his rematch clause from Spring Stampede. Heenan brings up the WCW US Championship and plugs a triple threat number one contenders match tonight with Mike Awesome, Booker T and Lance Storm. Schiavone brings up the triple cage match between DDP and Shane Douglas which had to be one of the most brutal contests he has ever witnessed. Heenan suggests that we won’t see either man for sometime. Schiavone sends it over to David Penzer to start the show. Opening Contest: © Dean Malenko versus Elik Skipper WCW Cruiserweight Championship Skipper sends Malenko into the ropes early on and connects with a big yakuza kick. Skipper with a tilt a whirl backbreaker for a near fall. Skipper continues his impressive offense with a dragon suplex. Malenko battles back with a back suplex and a back breaker of his own. Shane Helms runs down to the ring and fights them off with a recovering Malenko. Guerrera and Psicosis bail as Helms checks on Malenko who just grabs his belt and leaves the ring. Helms doesn’t understand Malenko’s issue and plays to the crowd. Commercials WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Ric Flair makes his way to the ring and is greeted with a fairly good reception by the crowd. Flair would like to thank Scott Hall for showing up for a ass kicking last night and finding out the hard way why Ric Flair is indeed “the man”. Flair turns his attention to the future and brings up how he has to defend his championship against Bret Hart. Flair has never seen anything special in Hart and can’t help but laugh at the slogan he says every time he gets the chance. Flair is referring to “the best there is, the best their was, and the best their ever will be” slogan Hart uses. Flair proved to Hart that he is the better man at Spring Stampede and will prove it again tonight. Flair goes to bring up Eddie Guerrero, but Bret Hart makes his way to the ring to a course of boos. Hart reminds Flair that he beat him during a triple threat match. Hart says that if it wasn’t for Scott Steiner, Hart would have never been in the position to lose to Flair. Hart says he made sure to beat Scott Steiner last night at Slamboree in order to use his rematch clause here tonight. Hart goes to continue but is cut off by Eddie Guerrero. Guerrero remains at the top of the entrance ramp. Guerrero tells both Flair and Hart that he has been waiting for quite sometime to get the opportunity to prove to the world that he can keep up with the veterans of WCW. Guerrero tells Hart that he may have been good, but he has never been great. He is looking at great. Guerrero tells Flair that he may have been the man back in the 1980’s but compared to Guerrero, he is just a little boy. Guerrero doesn’t care who wins, Flair or Hart. Come WCW Great American Bash on June 11th, Eddie Guerrero will walk out as the new WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Flair tells both men that neither will be able to take the strap away from him, because neither man are at the level he is at. Flair has a stare down as Guerrero looks on from the ramp. Commercials Second Contest: Vampiro versus Billy Kidman Kidman slingshots over the top onto Vampiro before he enters the ring. Kidman sends Vampiro into the guard railing and charges towards him but Vampiro backdrops Kidman over the railing into the crowd. Vampiro drops Kidman face first onto the top turnbuckle and connects with a spinning back suplex. Vampiro leaps off the middle turnbuckle but is met with a dropkick in mid air. Kidman springs off the middle rope and plants Vampiro with a tornado DDT. Kidman quickly heads to the top rope and connects with the Shooting Star Press for the win. *** After the match, Kidman celebrates his win, until Crowbar runs down and plants Kidman with a brain buster. Vampiro grabs a spike from his boot, that he didn’t get to use, and nails Kidman which causes him to bleed. Rey Mistero runs down but fails to make the save as Crowbar sends Rey over the top to the floor. Vampiro and Crowbar share Kidman’s blood as the fans are disgusted by the celebration. A video begins to play with the camera showing a house. The video goes inside and the video starts at someone’s feet. The camera pans upwards to reveal Mike Sanders with a smile on his face. Sanders tells Dustin Rhodes that he would reveal his secret tonight and is going to do just that. Sanders is sitting on a couch. Sanders gets up and begins walking to reveal various photos and material that belongs to… Dustin Rhodes. Sanders runs down Rhodes’s career starting in the WWF when he was a “golden fairy” which openly embarrassed his family. Sanders says that since Rhodes was always on the road, his family was seeking a husband and father figure. Sanders lets Rhodes know that his family has found a new “man of the house”. Sanders walks into Rhodes’s kitchen where Terri Runnels and Dakota are eating dinner. Terri notices Sanders and walks up to him and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Sanders embraces Dakota who calls Sanders “daddy”. Sanders sits down and continues to say, “Dustin, your family wants to become… Above Average.”. Sanders begins to eat and finishes the video with a cocky smirk on his face. - You capture Schiavone's character very well indeed. No more needs to be said. - Malenko is awesome, so I hope he holds onto his belt, but that we see Helms vs. Malenko at some point. - Flair should never have been Champion in 2000. Hopefully he loses the belt, but not to Guerrero, as I don't think he'd be ready at this point and the belt would lose a lot of credibility, especially if Flair is the defending Champion. - Mike Sanders rules the world. - I enjoyed the triple threat. You wrote it out very well. Storm winning is just an added bonus. I hope he takes the belt. Fire Hogan. - Didn't care much for the tag team match. - Stasiak's interview has me interested. I want to know what happened to Sid. - The six man tag seems like it'd be fun to watch. The finish works well and builds up Sting/Jarrett. - Yay Raven. Please push him far. 2000 should have been his big break. - Would liked to have seen a clean finish to Hart/Flair, but the return of Goldberg was nicely done, although that being said the Guerrero part kind of ruined the drama of it for me.

Solid win for Malenko although I feel like the cruiser title shouldn't open up the show 100% of the time. Eddie's title shot should be great when it comes. Surprised Vampiro lost his match there. Figured Storm would win, that feud with BEnoit has been good. Glad Parentol Control won there, they're more interesting. Jarrett winning was cool. Wow, good way for Goldberg to come back. Very interesting finish to the show.
