I've got a few ideas for build and brawl customs, but have no idea really how to start. Anyone here got any experience with them?
Particularly, I want to crack the torsos open and do torso switches. How can this be done safely?
I've found headswaps to be problematic on some of the figures purely because of the size/fragility of the pegs, so I'm imagining that there's a bit more care needed in the torso cracking process than there is with RA/DA because these are so much smaller.

I've done two BNB customs, neither had a torso switch. However I took the parts apart minus the torso, crotch piece, and sanded them all down so I could paint without joint rub. The pieces are very fragile from that stand point, and I don't know that it'd be that easy to do the swap without compromising the torso and needing to sculpt over bits of it. Honestly, I'd just cut the torso off the legs and swap that way. You'll lose the articulation in that one point, but will save lots of headache and parts.
