Imo, J.B and Mick Foley would be an awesome pair as commentators. It was be like JBl and Michael Cole, Where mick foley is JBL, and J.B is michael cole. I think they would do great. I think J.B is good at what he does, and Mick Foley was a good commentator, they would certainly be better then the ones commentating now. Who do you think should become the new commentators? Or do you like the current ones? Thoughts?

Mike Tenay and Don West COULD be good, but they need to tone it down. Also, they don't need to tells us EVERYTHING that happens on screen. I don't need to hear them tell me that Tomko is thinking about Christian, when I can see Tomko thinking about punching Christian, thats when they just need to be quiet and just let things play out. If they did that I think they'd be fine.

I like Mike Tenay and have since the WCW days, so I don't want him going anywhere. West has improved loads since he first started out but is still pretty annoying to listen too - I wouldn't mind JB joining the team but honestly; I don't think West and Tenay are doing too bad a job on commentary.

Slightly OT but JB is a really funny back stage guy but then when he comes out to the ring to announce the main event it's hard to take him seriously!!

Im happy with both Tenay and West, but to be honest there points where the shouldnt comment on the obvious and just let things speak for themselves like Promos and the like, Im sick of hearing a comment getting put in whenever a break in the promo shows up it kills the feeling and momentum to be honest. West needs to stop yelling at everything, and if its a super mega awesome spot, let the crowd do the yelling, i hate it when they overshadow the crowds reactions.
Other than that, Tenay is great at calling the moves and discussing storylines same goes for West except for the moves which I think he needs to work on more.

I like Tenay calling matches...he's really good, imo.
Don West, on the other hand, is a boob. He rarely ever calls anything going on...at least wrestling-wise...and most of the time he just blunders.
I wish they put someone in his place...maybe Mick Foley once the whole MEM storyline ends.

West and Tenay are good but can be over teh top at times!
Personally I want them to stay as Commentators, but they could maybe add somneone else to it the mix like when Frank Trigg was there it seemed more real

I think Don West brings out the worst in Tenay. Tenay was fantastic in WCW but it like the ore over the top Don is Tenay has to match that. Maybe JB and Tenay but I think wed need a manlier voice.

Anyway...if Tenay and West switched positions ie Tenay was play by play and West was the hype guy and they learned to make the main event important instead of schilling us like every match was important they could get be better. |

I have a hard time watching because these two will not stop talking. Take a cue from wwe's announcers and let some moments speak for themselves. Stop screaming at me! I have eyes and can plainly see what is in front of me. You can't even enjoy the crowd reaction.
Tenay should be a backstage announcer/interviewer
Don West should be the mouthpeice for some wrestler that can't get over.

lance storm put it best. they just sound like they're reading off a page, as if they're not actually watching what's happening in front of them. make it all sound more natural. also like everyone else here has said- let the action speak for itself during really dramatic parts. they don't need to lead everyone by the hand with every action.

Lately, Tenay has sounded really bored in my opinion. In 05 - 06, he and West seemed way more enthusiastic.
Cornette on commentary would be nice.

meh, I dont see them going anywhere. I agree that they could be good, and also agree that they are over-the-top. For me, the most annoying part is hearing West gasp or weeze in between lines when he gets worked up.
