Tonight, at the LG Arena, TNA ran its Maximum Impact show in Birmingham, with some matches being taped for SpikeTV. After the intermission, Dixie Carter addressed the fans, and an announcement was made that TNA Wrestling is "currently negotiating" to run one of its live pay-per-view events in 2009 here in the United Kingdom. Obviously, they haven't confirmed any dates/times/venues (although JB did drop a subtle hint that Birmingham would be a good place to run it later in the show).
Obviously, this is great news for those of us in the UK if it ever goes ahead.

Wouldn't have thought they'd have chosen Birmingham if they were going to film a PPV taping to be honest, NEC isn't really that big.

They say that in every city they go to. They normally just say "Well be back soon" and hint at a PPV. I don't recall Dixie Carter EVER coming out and going that they are "currently negotiating" to run a PPV in '09.

I really think it would be awesome to see a live PPV from the U.K. since there hasn't been one in years (to my knowledge).

I'd complain about the time zone difference, but TNA can just deal with lower numbers on PPVs than normal. Knowing results ahead doesn't help me decide to watch something.

I would love to go to a TNA PPV if it was in the UK. TNA aren't always the best, but I feel their PPV's deliver most of the time. - I think having it in the UK could add a nice atmosphere.

Isn't it like a 2PM show in England will air at 8pm America. They could do a live PPV on a Sunday afternoon in England.

When I went to a show in New York and New Jersey, they said the same thing there.

When I went to a show in New York and New Jersey, they said the same thing there. I really doubt Dixie Carter came out, said they was negotiating a PPV there, and then proceeded to put it on the TNA website. They might've said they would - but not to that extent. Also, NJ did get a PPV..

Birmingham is too small, and London venues would be too big.

Well no, the other guy said a 2pm show would mean it would air at 8pm in the US. PPVs are on in the UK at 2am (in the middle of the night), so if they did the PPV in the afternoon in the UK (2pm) it wouldn't air at the same standard time in the US, but in the morning.

That would be amazing! I would want it to be London! But I can't see it! I'm guessing Birmingham!
