Tottenham have won the race to sign Middlesbrough's England defender Jonathan Woodgate. The 28-year-old was reportedly the target of three Premier League clubs who were all keen on signing the former Real Madrid centre-back.
Newcastle had revealed their desire in re-signing Woodgate, but the other interested club was unknown.
But Woodgate, who has played 16 times for Middlesbrough this season, has decided to join Spurs.

Decent siging for spurs, never seen the massive price tag Leeds paid for him worth it though (was it leeds who paid like £25m+?)
Still, if I was him and was offered Newcastle or Tottenham at this moment in time I'd definetly take Tottenham :/

Yeh I never saw what was so good about woodgate - always seemed rubbish to me - only thing good about him was his uncanny nack to pick up red cards

Think Leeds had him at his peak, then we got him and he was quite decent. Real Madrid ed up his career though. Hes too injury prone now.

He's a great player, or he was when he was at Leeds.
You just have to watch him when he sees a pakistani.

My favourite Woodgate moment was when he scored an own goal against us playing for Stoke, cracking looping header.
