Hey guys,
I thought I would share pics of some of my latest receivings over the past month and, as usual, they are a throwback to some of the first few years of Jakks Pacific wrestling figures. I hope that any and all discussion will bring back some nostalgic memories for collectors that take the time to look at this thread, and sorry in advance if any of the pictures are blurry or the flash is distracting in spots (I'm constantly trying to retake photos so they turn out better, but certain carding kept wanting to make it harder for me lol).
Oh, and thankfully the whole "vintage" thing has slowed down in recent weeks so that my usual thread title doesn't instigate any fights over use of the word (I swear, Michael Cole had no part in the making of this thread).
Without any further a do, here are my latest receivings and I hope you enjoy the pics.
First off, I bought this BCA Signature Series 6 Vince McMahon figure MOC for less than $5 shipped on eBay. It is from the last officially recognized BCA series before the line was phased out for TTL figures (although, technically, the KB-exclusive Backlash series of BCA repaints lasted well into the fall of 2001). Also, Vince has the OTM Rocky Maivia legs that were sought after back in the day; it's not a bad figure, but I definitely prefer the ring attire Vince from Superstars Series 9/the one in the Grudge Match 2-pack with Steve Austin.
Next, I bought these two MOC BCA The Rock figures from the same eBay seller for $7 shipped. The first is from the Signature Series 4 set and the second from the Shotgun Saturday Night Series 4 aka Road Rage set (which was the last one I needed to complete the series). The SS4 Rock figure is, I believe, one of three The Rock figures in his signature (no pun intended) $500 shirts that he often wore in the WWF during the Attitude era. There is this one, the Fully Loaded Series 2 figure, and one from the KB-exclusive Backlash series, which I'm pretty sure is the only three using this particular torso mold.
I bought the following MOC Grudge Match 2-pack featuring Hardcore Holly and Al Snow for about $5 shipped; I bought it mostly because the Holly is a variant in white boots (the more common figure is in black boots). It was a fairly good deal considering it comes with Head and a special trading card. I have way too many BCA Al Snow figures as it is, so hopefully I'm nearing the end of buying figures I want that come with a random Al Snow repaint lol.
I decided to buy this Grapple Gear Series 2 weapons pack because I wanted to own another pair of stairs, so it only cost me about $17-18 shipped for the MOC pack which, as usual, I opened for my mostly loose collection.

Loose group shot...

The wheels are great for easy transportation of trash or, obviously, weapons.
These stairs aren't a perfect fit, but it's good enough for me.
A shot with my old Hardcore ring lol, setting up for a classic hardcore match between Holly and Snow.
Next, I paid close to $10 shipped for the following two figures combined on eBay, which is a little more than I normally would have paid but I wanted to own both figures (S.T.O.M.P. Series 3 Marc Mero and Signature Series 6 Mankind).
I decided to zoom in on the back carding since I didn't get a better picture of it the first time around.
SS6 Foley is supposed to look dirty, which is some great added detail on the front and back of his shirt.
I bought this MOC KB-exclusive Backlash Series 1 Shawn Michaels (with the Slammers torso, but without the Slammers action feature) for a little over $5 shipped; it's interesting that the figure is based on Shawn's attire from Royal Rumble 1997 with entrance chaps on, yet it was released in the year 2000. The side of the chaps has nice detail, but the back of the tights is missing any logos or designs, so it really isn't as special as is often advertised by sellers or other collectors. I've wanted the figure for a long time, though, so I'm glad to finally own it.
Last but not least, I bought several figures from one eBay seller in particular which cost me around $37-38 shipped; it wasn't the best deal (I thought it would be better considering what combined shipping I thought I would get, but didn't), but I'll live with it. Included in the figures I bought was the Special Edition Raw Is War 4-pack, half of the Signature Series 4 set (I only need Edge now to complete the set), three figures from the Special Edition Series 2 set, and one Special Edition Series 3 Marc Mero figure. The box set is one of my favorites from the early days of Jakks figures, and I was glad to add the others to my collection (especially SE2 Austin with Austin 3:16 shirt).
The Bret in particular has tons of detail on the side of his tights (as well as the star on his boots, which none of the mass-released BCA Bret figures have). Here are pics of the figures from behind and a close-up of Bret's tights (by the way, Sid's trunks are painted an exclusive dark purple color, Sunny is in an exclusive pink outfit, and Vince has exclusive gray hair which I've heard was only produced for 4,000 of the figures before being given darker hair because McMahon himself wasn't flattered by the gray coloring of his figure).
And MOC pics of the others I mentioned above...
Well, that's it for now, thanks for looking, and I hope the pics didn't take too long to load.
