I've had a hell of a lot of jobs in my life, and there has been many ups and downs. Probably the absolute WORST day at work I have ever had would be about seven years ago. I was working as a busboy at a casino when the first of many to come heart palpitations started. I thought I was having a heart attack, it was so damn scary. They pulled me into the private dining room which was closed that evening, and tore open my shirt. The paramedics tought me The Valsalva maneuver (where you close your nose and pop your ears really hard and keep expelling air through them to try to convert my heart back to normal beats). The whole time this is going on, my bitch of a manager is looking at me with sweat pouring down my face and me in a state of shock, asks the medics, and I quote: "Is he going to be okay enough to continue working? I still need those coffee pots bleached out for that company meeting tommorrow." I quit the following day. My favorite time at a job had to be when I was working at a local pizza place called Mr. Gatti's. There was a hellacious rainstorm just tearing ass through the little town we were in, and no one was calling for pizzas, obviously. We sat there for almost three hours. Finally, my boss goes, " this, if we have to do this for the rest of the night, I'm going to have fun." He ran to his van, busted out the XBOX 360, some DVDs, and we sat around just jamming to the radio, eating all the free food we wanted, and playing games until midnight. So, do you have a greatest/worst time a a job? -BEN

Best day was when I was promoted to the Shoe Specialist / Supervisor. Worst day was yesterday, I had the past 3 days off (Tues-Thurs) and when I left monday, my shoe floor was amazing, all my shoes were out, and nice and neat. I come in, and they (managers) to move craparound to get an early start on our new shoe set, which doesnt take place until next week. So basically, my Department now looks like complete shit.

Eh, I met Bunkhouse when I worked at Sears. He was really more concerned with if we had his lawn mower fixed. He was nice enough to share a few laughs about his and Robert Fullers time, but nothing like the time I spent with Jake

I would have quit too if a manager ever said anything like that, and the sad thing is I can totally picture some uptight manager acting that way.
The worst day had to be when I worked at a restaurant and it was dead the whole night, and about 15 minutes before closing we had a bunch of middle schoolers coming in from a dance so they all wanted food and dessert. I wouldn't have cared if it was normal customers, but those little pricks are so rude and they don't tip and they make a huge mess. So I was pissed.
The best was during a snowstorm. Absolutely nobody in the restaurant, so we all just went in the kitchen and cooked whatever the hell we wanted. Then we all sat in a big booth and just bullshitted the whole night. It was pretty fun. Oh and we played football with a loaf of bread.

The best was when I was doing some work at the Times (a newspaper here in the UK - I was shadowing their entertainment editor for two weeks) and I got to sit in on an interview with Will Smith. Nothing has topped talking to Will Smith.
The worst was last month. I'm a barman at a local club in town, and we got a group on their stag party. Things got out of hand and I ended up getting a bottle over the head. Getting glass stuck in your head really hurts.

my worst was on my 17th birthday. the first thing anyone said to me was moaning about the previous week because i messed up the closedown of the area. i work in fresh prep at a supermarket you know. then our supervisor who has since left because he took about 5 weeks off, told me,' Well you ed up big time last week mate' Because of that i ended up putting olives in containers that day instead of making pizzas like i usually do. Best? well the past couple of weeks have been good, my friend now works the same day as me, and i chat to the guy on the department next to ours a lot as well. i was up a rickety wooden ladder yesterday pulling out a plug, and the department manager is proper happy with how i'm doing. plus last month i got a pay rise so it's currently going well

Best- Id say last week when the RM (Resturant Manager) took me in the back area where dishes are done and im thinking she wants me to do the dishes so I start to get the water ready and she says "no...no...good try thou. Clyde(the owner) wants you to take over Marios(assistant manager) postion. He's been slacking and I told Clyde I think your as good, if not better" -on a personal note this was a very good moment for me cause the shift leader who hired me told me id never be anything but a 'burger bitch' and that made me work harder to learn all postisons and excel. Worst- about a year ago at my first job still I went in to check the schudle and I wasn't on it. So I ask the manager why I was left off and he said "cause we don't need you anymore..." I told him to go himself. And found this job. On anotherside note Ben, that's terrible to hear that's how the manager was but where she is now fits her perfectly.

Best and worst combined. Our former Deputy manager was being a complete jackass all day. I was in the midst of working a 12 hour shift. At the 11th hour, he just went too far, so he got one of these thrown at him - Was pretty hilarious.
