Ok, Kurt Angle is the TNA Champion, we all know that.
And most of the TNA fans want Joe to become champion.
This is what I would do. It is well known that Joe might need to take a month or so off to heal his injuries, which is understandable. They could easily work that into a storyline.
At Victory Road, they should do a Royal Rumble type thing, with the winner getting a shot at either the TNA, X-Division, or Tag Team championship. Have Joe win the battle royal by eliminating Christian and then have him stand in the ring staring at Kurt Angle who is at the top of the ramp, as the show goes off the air.
Therefore, we already have our Bound for Glory main event, and they can have a strong two months of build up.
TNA NEEDS to build Joe as the next big thing. If they are serious about giving Joe the title, they need to put so much money into him. He should become TNA's main poster boy. Casual fans need to get to know him, which is why it's smart to keep him face.
So Kurt Angle will be the heel in this situation. Have Kurt Angle know it's a risk facing Joe because he might lose his title, so have Angle hire "hitmen" to try to take Joe out of action before Bound for Glory.
Leading to Hard Justice, Kurt Angle tries to get Serotonin to take out Joe, but it doesn't work. Then he tries to get LAX to take out Joe, still doesn't work. At Hard Justice, Samoa Joe has a match with Christian Cage. Samoa Joe wins and gives Cage his first loss in TNA, but after the match, the Christian Coalition beats up and bloodies Joe. Have Joe lieng in the middle of the ring covered in blood after getting beat up to end the show.
The next week, Christian can come out and say that Joe is out of action and therefore, the TNA Championship match is going to go to him. Have Joe pull a Sandman from ECW and make it believable that he is too hurt to compete. This would give Joe a good month to rest and get ready for Bound for Glory. Have a match Kurt Angle vs. Chris Harris at No Surrender. Have Christian come out with his Coalition and cost Chris Harris the match, and after the match, have Joe come out and completely DESTROY all of the Christian Coalition, and right when he gets to Kurt Angle, Angle runs out of the ring and up the ramp.
Leading to Bound for Glory, Joe is crazy, like a monster, trying to get his hands on Kurt Angle. Jim Cornette is so worried that he makes the stipulation that neither Joe or Angle can lay a hand on each other until Bound for Glory. And anyone who tries to stop this match from taking place will be fired on the spot. Therefore, the buildup will be intense and people will PAY to see Joe finally get his hands on Angle. At the final iMPACT before Bound for Glory in the closing minutes, Joe and Angle can't take it anymore and start beating the hell out of each other to end the show.
So therefore, at Bound for Glory, you have two strong matchups with buildup behind it.
Christian Cage vs. Chris Harris (Something fresh, and will help put Harris over as a main eventer)
Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe (By now, it will have tons of buildup, and Joe will be back to his monster character)
