In my opinion you can't support 2 teams in the same league. Im a die hard Man United fan, I could never see myself supporting another premiership team. I follow watford to see how they do as theyre my local team but thats about it.

I knew that someone was going to pick up on the fact he supports two Premiership teams, so I'll wade in with my view. And don't anyone DARE say that it's impossible to do, because it can be done as both Hoo-Rah and myself are testament to that. First of all, I did support Newcastle long before I enjoyed watching Arsenal play, but only because I felt I had to. Living just a couple of miles from Newcastle it was always thought that you should support them, so I did. Around 2000/01 I started to get into a broader range of football as I liked a few foreign teams, which is all well and good because who doesn't? Anyway, Arsenal really caught my eye a little after that time as I enjoyed the way they played. I still do prefer Arsenal's style to Newcastle's and I still only support Newcastle as they are my local team and I like to see them do well. The two teams never get in each other's way (except maybe the odd Cup pairing here and there) so it's not as if I'm following Chelsea and Man Utd at the same time who are big rivals. I'll use another example here. Say you supported Chelsea and also followed Preston as they are your local team and you were a non-believer in supporting two teams in the same league. What if Preston got promoted to the Premiership? Would you stop supporting one or the other? Absolutely not. You know that they can co-exist and everything will be fine. I'm not gonna stop watching one of the best movers of a football in the country, if not the world, just because a few teenagers say "That's impossible! You can't follow two football teams!" It's not the end of the world so leave me and others to enjoy whatever we want and bugger off! I myself am looking forward to the start of the season. There's nowt on the TV on Saturdays now so it'll be a relief to have Match Of The Day back again. Basically what you are saing is you support Arsenal because they play good football, which imo, is glory hunting.

You should support your local team it doesn't matter if they don't play good football or not. I don't support my local team (Leeds) but I've got a pretty good reason for supporting United. My dad's supported them all of his life as did his dad. Now it'd be a bit strange for me deciding to support Leeds when my dad's a diehard Uinted fan and he's brought me up to support United.

Yeah, I agree.
I don't believe you can support two teams full stop.
Let alone two in the same league.

It's just un-natural to support two teams, this is for the people that support two teams... what would you do if your two heads played against eachother?

Again, I follow both clubs and I don't see a problem. I'm not claiming to be a die-hard Arsenal/Newcastle fan because I know I'm not. I know I'm not the most loyal follower of a football team but I never intended to be. If I was a glory hunter, don't you think I would forget about Arsenal right now and go for Chelsea or Man Utd? I would never do that because I don't like either team in the slightest. I'm more what you would call the casual armchair fan who likes to watch good football. I like to see most regional teams doing well (not Sunderland), such as Hartlepool, Darlington and even Dunston Federation! It's a shame to see that so many people won't open their minds to other possibilities. For those on here who do only support one team I say that you're a more loyal football fan than I am and I know it to be true. It doesn't mean I'm any less interested in football though.
EDIT - I just went back to the first page and cannot believe the gall of Beck to call either one of us morons. It's just a game of flamin' football for crying out loud! If I casually follow two teams, does that mean I should have failed my GCSE's and A-Levels because according to one person I'm a "moron"? Hell no! I passed everything because I am very able to do so. Football has no bearing in the real world so get a grip. The fact that I (and Hoo-Rah) can fly in the face of adversity and do this (follow two teams) proves that it can be done. Hoo-Rah and myself are showing better heights of level-headedness and maturity by explaining ourselves and I would love it for others to come and join us up here by just accepting the fact that this is possible and should not be argued about like children in the schoolyard. Anyone would think that this was the 19th Century and I had just come out of the closet or something the way some of you children are behaving.

Children? how old are you pal?
Anyway, I called you morons in a footballing sense, but as you admitted you're aren't a real fan I can withdraw the statement.

I don't mean to sound condescending but I've always been like that since I was at school. I was the eldest in the year and had a maturer head than pretty much everyone else (I swear I'm a 40 year old trapped inside a younger body) so I always used to think of the others as "kids", and I was called "grandad" once because I was complaining about the youths at school. I'm sorry if I seemed to put you down in any way but I'm just tired of running over this argument again and it's harder to judge exactly what someone is like over the internet.
