I was watching Orndorffs shoot last week and I was watching some of his matches........
really liked Orndorffs style.I think he is probably the best wrestler in WWF to never win ANY title........
thoughts?

He was awesome. I just wish they would've given him an Intercontinental title run in the WWF. The only thing I didn't like was how many times they made him go from heel to face every few months.
His time in WCW was awful. Excellent performer, but horrible gimmics.

I always thought Orndorf should have won the title from Hogan and lost it to him in that cage match they had, they put on some great shows. Orndorf was always so underrated, you're right, he was the best to never win a championship.

its such a pity thta Vinnie never gave him the proper time to heal that damaged nerve....it was in his interest to let him heal.
its shocking that Orndorffs muscle mass was shrinking because he was hurt so bad and Vince wouldnt let him have time off in 88

To be honest i never saw much of the guy wrestle, but what i did see was incredible. He was one hell of a powerhouse (a lot of people forget how strong he was) and could really go through the motions. I thought he was a great heel and he defintely deserved a title run.
Orndorff falls into the same category as Perfect and Roberts. Easily oneof the very best who unfortunately never had one of the major titles in WWE.

yup, he was great. the turn with hogan bundy/studd was a huge moment. at that time he seemed able to create more heat than anyone in wrestling. as far as his time in wcw i thought he had some good matches.

Jake the Snake never won any titles. I'd say he was better than Orndorff. But Orndorff was damn good.

Well, Perfect held the IC belt when it actually was major belt (as the WWF only had 4 champions at the time) and in some respects even overshadowed the world title.

STOMWIJF:Im not sure man I just know it held him back big time and it was causing his physique to shrink.heard several dudes mentioning it on shoots plus Orndorff himself.
dunno if its the cause today although many folkis say he wasnt the same after that injury-including(again) Orndorff himself

Well, Perfect held the IC belt when it actually was major belt (as the WWF only had 4 champions at the time) and in some respects even overshadowed the world title. Yeah, that's what happened to his arm. He damaged a nerve during his feud with Hogan in 1986, and rather than take time off in the middle of the biggest feud of his career, he worked through it. Not sure if the arm would have shrank anyway, with or without time off to heal, but the injury is what caused that. As far as Orndorff never winning a title, it was kind of a trade-off for his being at (or near) the main event level so often. He was closely associated with Piper and Hogan during the time when that meant you were involved in the main event storyline. He was good enough to hold the IC or tag team titles in his prime, no doubt. But that would have taken him out of major programs with Piper and Hogan. When you look at it that way, it's arguable that Orndorff was better off without a low-level title.

I'm a HUGE mark for Orndorff. When I first became a wrestling fan, all I was able to watch was the local territory (1985 folks, the territories still existed) and AWA. The first WWE angle I ever saw was Orndorff piledriving Hogan and I became totally hooked. His work was very crisp and came off as very realistic to me. I honestly thought he'd beat Hogan at The Big Event.

Yes, he was a great performer who deserved a title. At my first job out of high school they used to call me Mr Wonderful.

The first WWE angle I ever saw was Orndorff piledriving Hogan and I became totally hooked. Oh man... I was going on 9 years old when that happened, and I was so angry with Orndorff. In one of the signature moments of my early wrestling fan markdom, I actually took my Mr. Wonderful poster off my wall that afternoon, because I found his actions to be so despicable.
