Alright so this is my first post, however I have been reading posts on this site everyday for the past five years. I guess you could say I’ve just never had unlimited access to the internet to be a regular poster on here, but now I do so woo hoo. I’ve decided to make my post about something very important. As you all know 2009 will surely fly by and our figure line ups have us almost thru half the year so 2010 will be here before you know it which means so will our new wrestling figure adoptive parents. . . Mattel!! Making this jump is such a disruption in our figure collecting universe and while it could be very refreshing it could also be an all out tragedy. So I say we talk about our hopes and worries for our new adoptive figure parents. I’ll take the honor of starting us off with my 3 biggest worries.
Worries:
My first worry is the quality of the figures Mattel has a lot of projects to work on and I don’t think the WWE figures are going to be this huge sink or swim thing for them. If they flop on the whole figure thing then hey they still have Barbie so who cares right? So what if they make the heads too small and out of hard plastic so there faces look bad and crocked and what if the pegs that hold the plastic together have that stupid thin circle of loose plastic hanging off. Or what if the paint sucks and over laps or just looks wrong. Or what they give them so many points of articulation that they look more like armored robots than humans.
My next worry is one we all feel and that’s size difference I for one have been collecting for about 10+ years and this would just be devastating!! However this were the case I suppose I if the figures were great than I’d want to buy the roster new anyways and would learn to make due as would all of us.
Lastly and most importantly. The worry of all worries, the big slap yo mama in her face worry, I fear that Mattel will take our figures to a more “child friendly” world. Do you know what this could mean people??? Huh do ya? How about a re- peat of that horrible line were Jericho was like a lion tamer and Chyna had war paint on her face and they all came with whips and guns. AHHHHH no thank you, if they wanna do some crazy press n say Triple H or a Squeeze n smell Snitsky or a Make me over Maria then I’m out! I will sit down in the store and cry I mean scream and wail and bite anyone near me!!! AND WORST, what if they go so child friendly that they outlaw Divas because there just too sexy. I am a huge Diva collecter and I have waited too long to get to where we are now having almost the intire roster of Divas and if they take this away from me. . . well lets just that little Barbie heffer of theirs WILL BE DESTROYED!!!!!
Well now that that’s out of the way I will move on to my Dream line of Mattel figures in a letter I’ve addressed to all of us sadly it’s fake. . .
Dear Jakks WWE Figure Collectors,
We first want to say how happy we are to a part of this wonderful world of the WWE universe it has definitely been a thrill ride for us. We have racked our brains to the core to bring you our the figures and lines that we hope you will all love. A bunch of us actually went out and bought some different types of figures including your current Deluxe Aggression and Ruthless aggression as well as some demo figures of our own and we used them all in very own little Mattel wrestle mania. In this “research” we discovered that that Jakks biggest selling line, Ruthless Aggression was unfortunately the hardest to play with the figures were very stiff and the moves that we all see and love were very limited. The Deluxe Aggression line however was very easy to manuver and the moves were endless how ever I feel it was quite ridicules to see an average Jimmy Wang Yang stand as tall as an Undertaker. So we have decided to create the ultimate combo the best of both worlds if you will to create Mattel’s main selling line that your sure to fall in love with Mattel’s WWE Superstars. The figures will have the same articulation as your deluxe aggression but when it comes to size we have decided to set a standard scale at which to follow so if the superstar is 6 feet tall he will be 6 ½ inches in figure form, if the Superstar is 6 ½ feet tall his figure will be 7 inches tall. You simply add ½ to the height of your favorite superstar and convert their height into inches and there you have it. Now for the superstars who don’t fall on exactly the foot or half foot will be rounded accordingly. For example if a superstar were 7 foot 3 inches he would round to 7 ½ inches tall but if he were 7 foot 7 inches he would round to 8 inches tall. This allows to have an accurate and diverse roster in your very hands. As for the head scans we plan to keep the same system as Jakks but happily we have solved a few glitches in the painting which allow us to have a lot more accurate facial features giving you an exact mini double of your favorite superstars. Now our WWE Superstar line will be released once a month and will include a total of eight superstars. Including managers and announcers and such.
Our line will be our Classic Superstar line we plan to continue this line much to your pleads to do so. There are however a few changes we plan to make the first being that all figures will be done in our new DA and RA combo that we described earlier including our new height accuracy. Now since these figures will be somewhat different from the ones you have been collecting we plan to slowly but surely re release all of Jakks released Classic Superstar line in the same attire just with our new mold. Now this is how we will decide how to choose who will be going into each line. There will be 10 figures per series and they will be released bi- weekly. Best of all 5 of them in every series will be chosen by you the collectors. . . Get excited oh yeah. So every month will release a complete list of superstars who are signed to have figures made and you will get to vote on your top five favorite superstars we will than tally the votes and your top five winners will be made!!! Once we release the top five winners you will than be given the opportunity to email us your dream outfit or time period for one of those five superstars submitted in ether a drawing, description or real picture than based on the general want we will make your five figures in their respected outfits. Once a superstar has been released as a Classic Figure there name will be removed from your voting list for a 4 month period allowing others to have fair chance of being made. Once the 4 months are over that superstar will be added back to your voting list and its all fair game. We unfortunately will not be continuing the LJN figures.
Our next line will be similar to your Adrenaline line we will call ours WWE Double Trouble. The line will include 3 sets of 2 in each series and will be released monthly with a bonus tri-monthly pack including 3 superstars. These figures will as well be in our new figure form.
Finally the final line we have for now will be the one all you Diva collectors have been worried about. . . originally we had wanted to do a complete Divas line but we decided instead to make an extension line of 3 Divas added onto our WWE Superstars line of 8 Superstars making the complete line of 11 WWE Superstars. We know that should most definitely please you hardcore Diva collectors and reassure you in knowing that you will be guaranteed at least 3 Divas a month. Now we know that there are not an endless amount of Divas on the WWE for us to release line after line of them but the reason we have done this is because those crazy Divas never stay the same, they cut their hair, change their clothes and so on. So in order to give you the most updated figures possible we will always release them in their own little 3 Divas line as part of our WWE Superstar lines. Our Divas will have just as many parts of articulation as our superstars and will follow the same height scale so a diva who is 5 feet tall will be 5 ½ inches tall. At this point we have three Diva top molds ,one being our most typical mold which is a medium size busty figure for divas like Katie lea, or Mickie James. Than we have our small size bust for divas like Kelly Kelly or Michelle McCool. Than our last mold being a larger bustier mold for divas like Natalya and Beth. We also noticed just how stick thin Jakks current Divas seem to be so we have made our molds very curvy to provide that sex appeal they promote so well on television. P.S. We promise to make the divas hair length and color very accurate and we will also be releasing divas in their street clothes including a variety of miniskirts, halter tops, tee shirts and blue jeans and yes unlike your current diva figures out Diva’s heel mold will actually be taller than tennis shoe. We also promise to limit ourselves from reusing the same head scan and hair for example a wrestling attire Mickie James may have her hair down and feathered while a street clothes Mickie James may have a more sexy face with pinned back curly hair. Whichever the case we promise to create both wrestling attires and street clothes in all outfits that can be seen on previous episodes of WWE.
That is currently all the lines we are ready to premiere but there will be many more in the future. So without further notice allow me to release our first ever lines. . .
