Let me start off by saying I've been a WWE/F fan almost all my life. I've been very critical of both them, and TNA as well. However, just because my "loyalty" or whatever you want to call it is with The "E", doesn't mean I don't want to see TNA do well.
Now, with WWE going down the route of PG ratings, less Sexuality, and who knows what else, could this be TNA's time to pick up where they left off?
Facts are Facts, and most wrestling fans are guys. And most guys like half naked, or completely naked girls. So, as sexy as the WWE Divas are, TNA has an opportunity to grab a demographic that does exist.
Now we are on to censoring. WWE hasn't gone so far as of yet to stop sexual ennuendos and some swearing on their programs, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen. Now are these things at all important to wrestling? No. But it'd be hard to find someone who didn't think DX's Presidental Speech was just hilarious, and thus thought the WWE product at that time was just as good.
What I'm getting at is that WWE capitolized on the "Attitude" era by raising the bar and bringing things to the table that their competition wasn't. So if WWE is toning down their product, and there is still a want or demand for a more mature or adult product, then this might be TNA's chance to capitolize on that.
Anyone else get what I'm saying or am I all alone here?

They could possibly do that, but they need to get their craptogether first and foremost.

Make no mistake, even if TNA can capitolize on these things, they have a long way to go before they even scratch the surface. Production value, storylines, match length, promo length, and I could go on for years.

Production value, storylines, match length, promo length, and I could go on for years. I dis-agree with production value. Everything they got with the HD switch (stage, iMPACT Zone, throns, etc) looks 10 times better than it did 6 months ago. It's one of those things where you (IMO) can look at WWE and TNA but can't go "Oh, WWE's production value is 10 times better than TNA". Is theirs better? Yeah, because they sunk billions into their product with the HD switch alone probally. TNA hasn't.

My beef with TNA's production value is their titantron videos, music, commentary, and interviewers. Has they quality gone up since the Wednesday shows and the HD switch? Oh hell yeah. However, I can't stand listening to Don West to save my life and i get bored by whatever "knockout" is interviewing.
The majority of songs in TNA are cheesy and generic. Unless its Kurt, Joe, AJ, or Sabin, I could honestly hear their music and not know who the hell the wrestler is. And don't get me started on the videos. Hell, WM2000 had longer entarance videos then TNA. Is it really that hard to make a longer video and not loop the same 30 seconds?
I'm just saying these little things do add up to alot.

I'm just saying these little things do add up to alot. [/u] firstly, im not going to say i dont agree with you, but i would like to know... *Have you ever been to a TNA event? *Have you ever walked out of an event due to the tron video being 10 seconds shorter than you thought it was going to be? *Would you go to more events, buy more merch and watch more TNA if the tron video was a bit longer? if you were asking me those questions, i would honestly say no. TNA dont have THAT cash just to throw around, they invest the money they do have in to things that will gain more viewers, more ticket sales and more merch buyers. Such as signing guys 'we' would snub and moc, but he may sell shirts, foam heads, smiley faces etc. I do however agree that those 'little things' are nice for us, the internet wrestling fans who know what we want and why we want it and when we get it, we want more. I personally think their music producer is laughing his/her/their balls off, im a producer and their level of work is below par IMO. The music is cheesy and does not capture gimmicks. 10/10 for curry mans music in fairness = worked so well with character. MCM on the otherhand.. .

Curry Man's music also wasn't TNA produced, so they really get no credit on that front.
I don't think so, most of the women in TNA I don't want to see half naked. TNA tries to promote them as being great wrestlers, so why would they start having them lose clothes? I feel that has a tendency to take away credibility of a women's wrestler. Can they wear sexy outfits? Sure. But when they're consistently in bra and panties matches, bit silly.
Besides how will TNA get this tossed demographic of men who only want to see half naked dames when their national advertising is shit? You can't get someone to watch if they don't know you exist.

I've been to a house show, as well as the Lockdown PPV in St. Louis. I see what you are getting at, and you brought up another interesting thought. Merch. I hate to say this, but the stuff TNA wrestlers sale on the side (AKA Alex Shelley for example) is typically 10 times better then what TNA has out for them. I'm not saying great merch makes or breaks a company (sometimes it can) but I think I'd be more incline to make the effort of ordering a shirt or checking on merch more often if it was actually presentable.

I really like this concept, sean. I mean, it is a great idea, and it worked for WWE/F ten years ago. The only problem is that we are talking about TNA, and they could either make it great, not do it at all, or screw it up. But as someone earlier said, TNA needs to get their craptogether first before they can do anything. Still a great idea though.

i agree, but merch can make or break a company i would think, its a constant profit point, when i say merch, i mean everything that is sellable. Shirts, posters, figures, dvds, signings, games. The issue is, as you quite rightly brought up, the quality of these products. Ive never seen a TNA shirt on anyone in the UK, not saying people dont wear them, but if you see a kid in a wrestling shirt.. its wwe. Marks wear particular things, i happily wear an old school ECW tshirt, its a small logo, but it dont bring attention to myself. Back to the point i never see TNA shirts.
The game (majoritly) was a flop in terms of what people thought about it after the bought it. I'd say their biggest P.O.S is DVDs, even then, the future is bleak with downloads and tape traders.
TNA has a pretty poor PR team, not the worst, but they arnt great. They dont have an obvious audience, the deograph shows that men watch more TNA when women are on... If i watch TNA on TV, i notice a LOT of kids are in attendence. Do they have a noticable heart throb for women, if they do, do they market it?
They need an adult format (wwe had 18 only dvds and diva stuff) Im not a fan of diva wrestling, but they could easily sell raunchier posters and dvds, to help this catagory.
Make clothing more accessible, make varients that people feel happy wearing, i dont want a shirt with a Huge sting head on it, but would probs wear a shirt with a small tna logo on breast pocket. Different designs for all ages.
Have a pin up for females, sometimes people need to be told who is hot. Shawn michaels was a huge female pin up, who does TNA market in this form?
Problem is, they dont know their audience, therefore dont know who to advertise to, so they try and pitch to everyone at the sametime, this cant work, especially when there marketing area is minimal. They need to puch further out, with loads of random stuff, in loads of general stores, aimed and designed at age appropriate customers.

No this is actually the worst TNA has been. I personally am liking WWE more with the PG rating. There are several decent to good matches a week. can't say the same about TNA, the best match in weeks was the Street Fight between MCMG and Lethal Consequences. The Empty Arend was good but was more of a brawl than anything. Vince Russo makes horrible storylines. There is an influx of untalented wrestlers (Sojo Bolt, Rhaka Khan, Sheik Abdul Bashir, Shane Sewel) and they are releasing all of their talented wrestlers(Williams, Dutt), they are making Joe look completely stupid and is starting to remind me of Umaga more than Samoa Joe.

Hoenestly ,Like I've been saying ,The need to remake the X-Division ,Because thats what got them there in the first place ,I mean really ,If TNA was just everything it was minus the X-Divison ,I doubt it would have lasted honestly in my opinion. They need to reinvent the X-divison and make it better. I mean think about it ,most of the best matches in TNA history were X-Divison Matches , think about it , Daniels v AJ v Joe ,One of the best matches in TNA history.Even earlier in TNA history there was the 3-way ladder match that was pretty awesome and even then the same 3 guys tore the house down in a regular triple threat match. So they need more X-divison and better it too ,Bring in more talent ;like say guys like Jayson Quick or other famous indy high flyers

I think the problem TNA has, at least in ratings, is the fact that they're sticked into the iMPACT! Zone. I mean, just make a year or 2 like WWE. Let the people know about you, then return to the iMPACT! Zone, and since you traveled around some places people will now remember "Hey, those guys were the ones who came here, lets see this" and stuff like that.

TNA won't ever be what WWE has become, but I can see them putting a more enjoyable shows, but they don't do that to me as of right now, but anything can happen really.

Why would they call raunchier Knockout Posters/DVDs? They're putting over their talent as WRESTLERS not so much as eye candy. It would totally contradict themself.
Make clothing more accessible, make varients that people feel happy wearing, i dont want a shirt with a Huge sting head on it, but would probs wear a shirt with a small tna logo on breast pocket. Different designs for all ages.
Have you not seen any TNA merchendise? Rarley do they release something with a "Huge Sting head on it". It's mainly stuff like:
shoptna.com/images/view.aspx?productId=741
shoptna.com/images/view.aspx?imageUrl=/images/products/detail/IMG_5611.jpg
The only "Huge Sting head" like shirt is the "Youth Shirts".
Have a pin up for females, sometimes people need to be told who is hot. Shawn michaels was a huge female pin up, who does TNA market in this form?
There is ZERO market for that tbh. They had those huge "fathead" like things and they didn't sell at all. Just like how their PPV posters didn't sell there isn't a market for this kinda stuff.
Problem is, they dont know their audience, therefore dont know who to advertise to, so they try and pitch to everyone at the sametime, this cant work, especially when there marketing area is minimal. A lot of Tna's knockouts are not that hot though..
No offense but who wants to see Kong and Roxie in bikinis.
They do have some pretty girls but I thought that their knockouts didn't want to be just pretty faces.
I don't really see Tna getting that much of a ratings boost anytime soon, because they always hover around a 1.2, so I don't know if this would even help that much.
