Hey guys,
I thought I would share pics of some of my latest receivings over the past month. As usual, my collecting priorities are focused mostly on the BCA era of Jakks Pacific WWF/E figures from 1996-1999 (for the most part) since I started re-collecting the figures in July of 2007. I have a lot more now than I did when I first collected them in the late 1990s, but the size of my collection isn't important to me because if I ever lose the interest, I will stop and move on.
I hope that the threads I've made in the past, and will hopefully make more of in the future, have brought any nostalgic feelings back for those that were/are fans of that era of wrestling figures and collecting, because that really is why I keep making the threads whenever I can. Sorry again if any of the pictures are blurry or the flash is distracting in spots, but I tried to take them from different angles/locations to prevent it from some of my recent purchases.
Without any further a do, here are my latest receivings and I hope you enjoy the pics.
First, I bought the following lot of practically all Shawn Michaels figures from an eBay seller shortly after I made my last thread, and it only cost me $17 shipped. Not everything is made by Jakks, but I figured I would share pics of the other stuff, too.
Backlash Superstars Series 1 HBK (my second one, in Royal Rumble 1997 gear) & Slammers Series 2 HBK (probably my third or fourth of this figure, sadly lol)
Two of Shawn's earlier series Jakks figures (Superstars Series 2 & 3, respectively - already own both loose)
Maximum Sweat Series 1 HBK (looking nothing like HBK, as you can tell) & the Playmates WWF Ring Masters HBK figure (have owned this one loose for many years)
A closer look at the Playmates back carding
Also included in the lot - a miniature HBK license plate and a die cast metal HBK keychain; I remember receiving the Vader keychain for Christmas that year, but I no longer have it for my collection.
The main reason I bought the lot was to add this Grudge Match set to my collection, which has been one of my major wants for a good while now.
The seller also threw in these loose items to sum up the entire lot (which has been one of my better deals, that's for sure), including Shawn's second Hasbro figure, a loose Slammers Series 2 HBK (with the original Jakks WWF Winged Eagle title belt), and the handheld video game seen behind them with HBK and Steve Austin pieces.
Next, I bought this MOC Road Dogg Jesse James vs. Al Snow with Head Grudge Match set from a different eBay seller for $6.50 shipped; RDJJ is the same as his Fully Loaded Series 1 figure, but Al Snow is an exclusive repaint and the reason why I chose to buy it.
I bought these two box sets from the same seller for just under $14 shipped each, except one belongs to another buyer (who just so happens to have the one I purchased). The mix-up occurred with the Championship Title Series set, as I bought the second CTS set from the seller (the one from 1999 with Stone Cold, The Rock, X-Pac, and Kane - with the later BCA title belts) but received the first one by accident. So, until I hear back from the seller and/or the other buyer, I own two of this exclusive box set.
At least I received the Over The Edge set that I purchased, though...
And here is the CTS set that technically belongs to someone else (which I already own anyway)...
Another purchase of mine from an eBay seller would be this exclusive Royal Rumble 1998 bagged set (it was loose when I bought it) with mint Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon figures for $9 shipped. This set could only be bought by those that ordered the ppv and sent in their bill afterward, so I've always wanted this set (I watched the ppv live, too, but never sent in the bill) and now finally own it.
I bought the following three box sets from the same seller I bought the OTE and CTS sets from earlier, except these only cost me $11 shipped each. I'm fortunate to own all of the box sets featuring exclusive referee attires now since I purchased the Raw Is War and No Chance sets. Badd Blood is another set that I wanted to own for a very long time but never could find a good deal for it (before now).
Also, I never noticed it before, but check out the Austin BCA figure pictured with the original TTL playset on the back of the Raw Is War box set. Vince McMahon's debut TTL figure is almost always pictured with it, but not this time. I'll try and take a better picture of it in a little bit.
And, finally, I received this King of the Iron Rungs box set (from 1997) in the mail today from a separate eBay seller for exactly $12.01 shipped lol. The Bret is one of few with the sculpt without sunglasses and the detailed attire, and this was also the debut of the original Jakks ladder accessory. It is a great all-around set, and fits in nicely with the rest of my collection and other box sets that I own. Once I receive my Attitude (featuring SCSA, HBK, and LOD 2000) box set in the mail soon, that will bring me to 19 box sets total in my collection.
I went a little box set crazy there, didn't I?
Well, that's it for now, and thanks again, as always, for taking the time to look at this thread, and I hope the pics didn't take too long to load.
