nWo 2002 was garbage. so was the invasion. Vince's ego ruined two of the potentially greatest angles in wrestling EVER. WCW vs WWF and the return of the nWo. thats like owning a money printing press. damn idiot. The InVasion was ruined by lack of top tier WCW stars. The NWO had already worn out its welcome by 1999, as evidenced by the crappy seen-it-all-before Bret Hart version. I'm not sure how exactly you'd suggest that "Vince's ego" ruined the WWF 2002 version, though? Poor writing, lack of co-operation from Austin, fans cheering for Hogan, Hogan playing up to babyface cheers, and the unfit state of Nash and Hall. Those are all reasons why the 2002 version failed, I don't see where Vince's ego comes into the equation.

Lets not forget these guys were OLD, Nash got injured, Hall was drunk, Hogan was doing his own thing...It was doomed

I still think this was a very cool segment. Another cool way to have done it would have been for vince and flair to be having a bit of back and forth in the ring with vince saying he is gona take down flair then flair saying somethink like "yeah you and what army" to which vince could shout back "ill give you a hint what are the initials to no way out?" then for smackdown to go off air. (a Jr "oh my god" to finish i think lol)

i remember at NWO, the segments with the nwo/austin, rock, others were just bad. no real build, the nwo simply acted as if they were old time hockey players or soemthing. no legitimate threat to wwe. ? They cost austin the title at NWO They beat the living crap out of the rock They do the same to austin they had pretty good segments if ya ask me

I thought they were doing well with the nWo until austin didn't wanna job to them or something .. plus when hogan was there fans went crazy they quickly saw dollar signs and ruined the whole thing.

WCW vs WWF and the return of the nWo. thats like owning a money printing press. damn idiot. The failure of the NWO return angle wasn't all Vince's fault. Scott Hall's addictions, Kevin Nash's bad knees, and the fans inexplicable reception of Hogan made it very hard to reproduce anything like the '96 WCW invasion.

I liked there short run, they came in looking like they were going to be unstoppable, only to lose every match they were in at Mania. But it wasnt as good, or as long a run as I think they could've made it

I liked there short run, they came in looking like they were going to be unstoppable, only to lose every match they were in at Mania. But it wasnt as good, or as long a run as I think they could've made it They weren't supposed to lose every match. Scott Hall was supposed to beat Austin, but "Stone Cold" threw a hissy fit because he didn't want to job at WrestleMania in the undercard. The nWo were supposed to run-in during Rock/Hogan and cost the Rock the match. But last minute booking decisions called for Hogan to become a babyface again, so that was nixed. But honestly, I slide about 25-35% of the nWo's failure to Steve Austin. He showed a lack of interest, and politicked so that he ALWAYS looked better than the nWo members. Don't believe me? Watch the Rock/Austin vs nWo match from the 3/11/02 Raw. Guess who took the pinfall in that match? At least the Rock allowed them to get a few over on him.
