The difference being that the storyline in 2000 was entertaining. The triple threat match has some of the worst build on the entire Wrestlemania card.
Thats not to say I don't think Edge, Cena and Show won't pull off something worth watching. I just feel bad that the three of them were subjected to an absolutely horrible angle at Wrestlemania.

Anyone who has watched wrestling for longer than the last 4 years should have recognized that most of the storylines used today have been recycled, and that's why I don't even pay attention to them anymore. I just enjoy the matches for what they are and don't worry too much about the impact it has on the storyline (which is why DQ endings, countouts and other "bull ****!" endings are so irritating to me. They have done the "obsessed superfan" angle with the divas at least three times I can remember (Tori/Sable, Mickie/Trish and now Beth/Rosa). Santino's character has become a long and drawn out version of "Hervina" from 2000, with shades of Marc Mero from the Jacqueline/Sable feud. The whole "Glamorella" thing has seemed like a watered down Eddie Guerrero/Chyna the entire time its been going on. The only solution to this problem is to have more of a focus on wrestling and not having to have fans suspend disbelief and common knowledge in order to be entertained by the product. Great points, I agree wholeheartedly. I also believe that the WWE doesn't think their fans have memories, long or otherwise, which is why they do this type pf thing, not knowing that the IWC and publications around the world do remember, which leads me to believe that this is the reason that Vince brought in the term 'WWE Universe', almost as if the WWE is it's own entity or something...
