This whole Edge vs Cena vs Big show with a title up for grabs but with a woman involved rung a bell, I knew I saw this before.
What do you think?

WWE does whatever works, and only some people catch on to it being an old storyline, nice catch there I didn't think about this one

Its not really the same. Edge and Show are using Vickie for their own gain, and HHH and Angle were genuinely "in love" with Steph. But i do see what you mean.
But i think when they came up for the idea of Edge/Show/Cena, they werent thinking "remember when we did HHH/Angle/Rock with steph??"
So IMO yeah they do recycle storylines all the time, but its rarely intentional.

It's kinda similar, but also very different in ways. Show & Edge are fighting for Vickie, mainly because of the power she holds, whereas Kurt was fighting for Triple H's wife's affections, not to become champion

Only difference from that video and todays WWE is that Stephanie McMahon is hot and Vickie is ... well ... Another difference would be that three of the top superstars of our era were involved in one match. It's telling that the WWE goes from Rock/HHH/Angle to Cena/Edge/Show.

Kevin Nash said in an interview last year that the wrestling business as a whole has maybe 6-8 basic angles that work. The basis of those angles are then platforms for new ones to just be enhanced.
This years Triple Threat is very familiar to the Summerslam 2000 match. As much as it is aggravating I guess the point is if something works in the past why not use a similar recipe for something new.

That's of course what comes to mind with 'The Frontline' and 'The Main Event Mafia' in TNA , which is just like 'The New Blood' and 'The Millionaires Club' in WCW. So that's what happens, as it's quite difficult I imagine to come up with stuff no one's seen before on a major platform.

Anyone who has watched wrestling for longer than the last 4 years should have recognized that most of the storylines used today have been recycled, and that's why I don't even pay attention to them anymore. I just enjoy the matches for what they are and don't worry too much about the impact it has on the storyline (which is why DQ endings, countouts and other "bullshit!" endings are so irritating to me.
They have done the "obsessed superfan" angle with the divas at least three times I can remember (Tori/Sable, Mickie/Trish and now Beth/Rosa).
Santino's character has become a long and drawn out version of "Hervina" from 2000, with shades of Marc Mero from the Jacqueline/Sable feud. The whole "Glamorella" thing has seemed like a watered down Eddie Guerrero/Chyna the entire time its been going on.
The only solution to this problem is to have more of a focus on wrestling and not having to have fans suspend disbelief and common knowledge in order to be entertained by the product.

Wow, did you watch that video? HHH looked ripped! The phonecall segment with Angle and Steph was pretty funny.

Yup, MOST of storyline just went around around and around, as they run out of storyline, basically.
