Why do you think Scott Hall never got the nod in any of the companies he was in? He was always over. Razor Ramon was a character that pretty really loved when he was a face and really hated when he was a heel. He was a good worker. He had charisma. He was smart in the ring. He had good mic skills. He surrounded himself with other good wrestlers and put on good matches. He even won the PWI Match of the Year in 1994. (There are not an awful lot of people who have won the Match of the Year and not been World Champion at some point in their career.)
Thoughts? Discussion?

I dont understand why he never got it as Razor Ramon. It was in with the Kliq and he was still a good worker. Of course once he got to WCW, we all know he couldnt be trusted to even show up to an event, so I wouldnt put the title on him there

this pisses me off for one reason........... diesel! kevin nash should have never been near the title, that year he spent as champion should have been halls or atleast some of it.
there were so many better stars to put the belt on than kevin trash.

By 1995 he should have won the belt. At the latest 1996. But instead they had him float around the IC title for what 3 years and by the end of it all I don't think people gave a damn.
If he would have stayed in the WWF I think he would have at least competed with the belt with Shawn. Maybe Ladder Match III? I don't know. But yes, Razor Ramon should have been WWF Champion.
Scott Hall in WCW....well I love the guy but no.

I disagree. Nash was insanely over at the end of 1994 and the fans were dying to cheer for him. He would have been a great World Champion, had he kept his same attitude. But they turned him into too much of a fan friendly, smiling babyface, and that's not what got the character of Diesel over. And of course, his feud with Mabel helped absolutely nobody. As for Hall, I don't view him as a World Champion. While I don't agree with Flair's comment that Shawn had a match with a ladder and there happened to be another guy in there...Shawn was more than half the reason that match was as good as it was. He was a decent wrestler, but never that great. If he had stayed in the WWF longer, I could see him maybe working his way into the main event, but he wasn't there yet. Even after the ladder match, it still took Michaels two years to get to the belt. And when Michaels turned face, he was more over than Hall ever was as Razor. As for WCW, I never followed that much, but I'm a bit surprised he never got the World title over there...mainly because they tossed that thing around like a hackey sack.

really i think it came down to the fact that he could not be trusted with the title. drunkenly groping 50 year old flight attendants isn't exactly the behavior a company wants in their world champion.

I think he deserved a title run. I mean at least for a brief period of time. I understand Nash was over and all but I mean if you recall the fued between Nash and Hall in WCW alot of people were interested and I think Razor vs. Diesel could've pulled some money in back in the E' around late 94 to mid 96.

I think Diesel should of won the title on RAW, because that was an add-on to the downfall to WCW. Hall should of won it.

A combination of timing and his own doings. Earlier onas Razor he problably could have won, but Diesel won and they were focusing on others. Then by 1996ish he was a drunk and f-cking up so there ya have it.

he compromised himself. if he wasn't such a drunky, i'm sure he would've won it in wcw.

He would have been Champ, if he sticked long enough. How long that is, I have no clue.

I always wondered how things would have went down had Ramon beat Hart at the 1993 Royal Rumble. He was one of the hottest characters/heels at that point and time.
I'm not sure when his drinking became an issue with his work. I'd assume it wasn't during his push/run through 1994. So perhaps it started late 1995 or so. I don't know of course.
Perhaps if he went over Hart things would have been much different. I don't think he should have went over Bret by the way. It's just interesting to think about.

Hall said he never cared about titles. He was all about the money.
