I wouldn't say that. No one really cares about ecw so I am just glad that Morrison got off of that show. Quit talking out of your ass. ECW is the most solid wrestling program going right now. Great wrestling and damn good up and coming wrestlers. yeah...I care.

The only reason WWE used the ECW name when creating the 'third brand' was so they could sell it to the TV Networks & advertisers on the back of the success of the One Night Stand PPVs. It was never meant to resemble the original ECW.

They ruined it so long ago that this thread is not necessary at all.

ECW, the name, is alive and well, so what does that say?
The ECW name could've never been used again and stayed dead.

I'd say quite a few people care about ECW. Just a bit, eh? WWECW? Different kettle of fish altogether. ECW? Yeah, I care. Maybe too much. Regardless, all the tapes and bootlegs I have of it extend to me more than just a wrestling promotion; probably why I would rather watch that instead than something from a company that has a special called 'Diva Diaries'. Yikes.

No, I don't agree with you at all. Heyman ECW was dead in 2001. I have never felt that the fed re-draft of ECW was ever going to be like the Heyman ECW. Anyone who felt it was obviously has no idea about the vision of the fed.

They didnt ruin ECW, because their now calling WWECW, not just ECW. If they just called it ECW, it would tarnish, not ruin.

They have trashed the whole concept of ECW. They don't even have the right to call it ECW anymore, we hardly even see any Extreme Rules matches, so there's the Extreme factor that ECW was all about gone. So, they trashed ECW. The only good thing about it is that talent who get lost in the shuffle on other shows get to shine there.

Lets look at how ECW has fared in the last 3 drafts:
2007:
ECW Loses - ECW Champion Bobby Lashley, Snitsky, Sandman, Hardcore Holly and The Major Brothers (a.k.a. Curt Hawkins/Zack Ryder). Only Hawkins/Ryder are still with WWE.
ECW Gains - Boogeyman, Chris Benoit (who 1 month later did you know what), Viscera, The Miz and Johnny Nitro (a.k.a. John Morrison). Only Boogeyman, Miz and Morrison are still with WWE.
2008:
ECW Loses - Mr. MITB CM Punk, ECW Champion Kane, Big Daddy V, Matt Striker, Shelton Benjamin, Layla and Kofi Kingston. Only Big Daddy V isn't with WWE.
ECW Gains - United States Champion Matt Hardy, Mark Henry, Hornswoggle, Super Crazy and Finlay. Only Super Crazy isn't with WWE.
2009:
ECW Loses - The Miz, Alicia Fox, Ricky Ortiz, Hornswoggle & John Morrison.
ECW Gains - Vladimir Kozlov, Ezekiel Jackson, Zack Ryder, DH Smith, Natalya and Hurricane Helms.
ECW was ruined in 2007 and 08's drafts but didn't do too badly in 09's.

It's not ECW though is it, this is just clearly a brand name for a third WWE show.
If you're prepared to look at it from that point of view it has produced several solid shows & got a decent roster. However because they called it ECW there will always be the obvious comparision. I thought the first two ONS PPV's were quality, & the first few months of the TV show were solid as well but then it slowly became a WWE show rather than anything close to ECW.
But ECW whilst it was sometimes great wasn't always the best thing going especially in the last two years of it's run.

i think its a decent show, but i won't be happy until they stop calling it extreme championship wrestling. land of the extreme? meh,no way. re-name it entertainment championship wrestling.seems more appropriate
