I really miss the nu-metal genre. I do too, but there are a couple options for us fans of the genre. We can do the nu-metalcore route, or some of the new wave of Nu-metal, or we can explore the genre and discover new bands that were killing it back then and we didn't even know it. I am hoping to one day finish making my database of all the nu metal american and canadian bands that I can track down, so I can have more to listen too. I do that too. I take note of the most obscure bands I hear and try and put them into genres. Not 100% sure what bands could be nu-metal nowadays like you said "nu-metalcore" maybe Motionless In White? Cane Hill? Papa Roach are still going too. New album actually. Have you checked it out yet?

I would say Cane Hill, Ded, Motionless (maybe), and many others are nu-metalcore. I actually found a long list the other day of that subgenre someone built. I can pass that along if you'd like. IIRC "Zombie Shark Records" of Europe is bringing back nu-metal truly. Amerikan Overdose, Terror Universal, A Killer's Confession (maybe...Mushroomhead's ex vocalist), and Dirty Machine are all close to it. I did hear that one P Roach track off the new album, but wasn't big on it. I kind of lost track of them after Paramore Sessions, even though I loved that album. I still bump Infest though. Currently Nonpoint and Anew Revolution are a couple of my rotation to work. Anything new you found? (this one's for Reager!) \m/ \m/ VPV

Attila, Shvpes, King 810, Of Mice and Men, Issues may fit into this genre. According to some guy on Reddit he believes Suicide Silence are nu-metalcore but I'm not buying it. I do prefer Mitch Lucker's days to the later stuff but even at that they were always bordering on deathcore more than anything else. I did hear a new song today which I assume is off P Roach's new album and it just seems too far from what I'm used too. I get bands change and develop like linkin park but it's so drastic, well what I heard. Although I like the new Within Temptation song Mr Shaddix lends his vocals to. Infest and Hybrid Theory never get old.

I wish I could see AILD but they're coming in a non-pay week. I could save money if I had to but enough to drive to NJ would be a tough one. And parking, etc.

I rarely post in here, but you should all check out Ten Masked Men, they are a British death metal band that covers pop songs. All 10 members wear some sort of ski mask. They are more or less an underground band, since they only perform at metal clubs and gigs like that. Their covers are great. They range from Cab Calloway, to Frank Sinatra, Survivor, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Michael Jackson and various others. They've been around since 1996. Here's their official Bandcamp if anyone is interested. tenmaskedmen.bandcamp.com/

Chris Fehn, stage number 3, mask with the long nose, was fired from Slipknot, as the band's official statement released today. Last week, Fehn had accused percussionist and founding member M. Shawn Crahan and vocalist Corey Taylor of setting up several unknown Slipknot-related business ventures and funneling profits from the band through those businesses. He claimed he was not being properly compensated for his time in the band because of those side ventures.

First Paul died, then Joey left, and now Chris is gone. I know Clown does backing vocals too but i feel that's what really helped Chris stand out in recent years, especially in 'Custer'. Plus he's got one of the more recognisable and dope mask's in the group. Still excited for their new album and this won't deter me from the group or anything, just hope it doesn't slow down the recording majorly.
