I'm a big death metal/black metal/viking metal/metal., etc fan, been one since 95' when I was introduced to it by a cousin, sadly she doesn't listen to it anymore but I'm glad she got me into it.
Just can't get enough of the music, been to many concerts, gigs and just love the togetherness of it sort of speak. I own many shirts, cds, posters. I get the why do you listen to metal questions alot and it's quite simple I love the music, I just don't get the same feel from other music.
I'm not even going to bother listing the bands I like because it's too many. ;D

So just curious, did anyone here actually like Judas Priest's Nostradamus concept album? I've listened to it a couple times...and I'm still not sure how I feel about it.

My main thing is metal but, I enjoy grunge, 90's alternative, classic rock and jazz. EDIT The stars mean I've seen them live. There are many more concerts I'm attending in the future. May 8th Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, God Forbid, As I lay Dying (don't like em though) and Municipal Waste. Also, I'm seeing Mayhem Festival. That list means one of 2 things: Your a liar: No one can listen to that many bands. You have no life: no one can listen to that many bands.

He could be lying, but then again, not every band in that list was a metal band, now was it? And if he has no life, then neither do I, as I have heard most of the bands he listed, and could care less what people deem 'lifeworthy' or otherwise... Ok sure.

Why do you have such a problem with it? Music is my life... Why should anyone care what some douche on the internet thinks about what I choose to listen to. Why shouldn't I discover more bands? Because a prick like you says because you have heard of and like hundreds of bands means you are either lying or have no life? You sir are the biggest bunghole this thread has ever seen... congrats.

Actually it is very easy to stumble across alot of different bands. For example: I like death metal, but the main two bands i listen to is "Cannibal Corpse" & "Deicide", but i still listen to alot of other death metal bands. Thats because i find them all on youtube. Now i've got pretty much all the Cannibal Corpse songs (G. Fisher era) on my ipod, while i've only got 4 songs from "Behemoth", but yet i still listen to "Behemoth". My point is, you don't have to listen to ever song by a band to say you listen to them.
Secondly, because it's music you can listen to it anywhere. I will usually buy a CD, upload the album onto my ipod and listen to the Album throughout the day. So i don't see how i would "have no life" for listening to alot of music.

It's very easy to c&p every band you listened to once into the "Music" section of your Myspace. Now, back to the matter at hand . . . WORRRRRLLLLDDDDDDDD

Although i can't stand anything with "core" on the end of it (Grind/Hard/Butal/etc.) Also what do you guys think of "Cradle Of Filths" first album. It sounds completly different from any of the other albums. I thought it sounded awful at the first, but i've gradually started to like it.

Realistically you do care what i think or you will read this and say "i dont care what this douche thinks" and click away from the thread. But i doubt that happens.

I love metal. I'm more into the earlier death metal stuff, but I like a lot of newer black metal and sludge metal.
Some favorites of mine:
Obituary - Slowly We Rot Death - Human Atheist - Piece Of Time and Unquestionable Presence At The Gates - The Red In The Sky Is Ours Darkthrone - Under A Funeral Moon Weakling - Dead As Dreams Brutal Truth - Need To Control Rotting Christ - Non Serviam High On Fire - Death Is This Communion Harvey Milk - Special Wishes Metallica - ...And Justice For All Cryptopsy - None So Vile Rwake - Voices Of Omens Cobalt - Eater Of Birds
These are just a few. I'm a huge fan of the stuff bands like Mastodon, Neurosis, and Baroness have been doing as well. Oh, and I love grindcore too.
