There were way too many Austin/Taker matches when considering the quality of most of them.
In Your House 15: A Cold Day in Hell Breakdown IYH Triple Threat w/ Kane SummerSlam 1998 Buried Alive 1998 Over the Edge 1999 Judgment Day 2001 Backlash 2002
and thats only PPV matches...

this leads on to the flip question of, if you build up a match really well, could that be a bad factor if the match sucks?
just throwing that out.

Yeah it seems like back then (attitude era and old-school days) the company took time to develop feuds, create tag teams, and build matches. Today everything seems rushed. Honestly, I was looking forward to Cena vs. Batista at WM, but was disappointed when it was schedule for SummerSlam. Now had Vince had them win the titles at SummerSlam, then there could have been a slow break-up of the team and a good time frame to build up their match at WM 25 (but now it would be WM 26).

They also had a First Blood Match (the first one, I believe) at Fully Loaded '99, and were involved in the Winners Take All Tag Match at Backlash '01.

Taker and Austin fought way too many times.

No one can touch the WWE in the way they produce a video package with so much emotion and the feeling that you HAVE to see that match , in my view.

Nowadays WWE focuses on how impressive they look, like how many effects and cool transitions they can do more than quality.
