So, Favre and his agent are claiming that he (Favre) is staying retired.
Oh well, I think it's probably for the best, tbh.

This is a personal vendetta by Favre. I cant really blame him. I would be much like how he is. Favre deserved better. The Packers did nothing wrong. Favre left them in doubt year after year. And they finally made the decision to go with Rodgers. Then Favre decided months later he wanted to come back. They can't adjust their plans yearly because Favre has the decision-making of a 7-year old. Favre is a legend....an icon of the NFL. He is a 1st ballot hall of famer. I understand the guy said he was retiring and the Packers proceeded to move on. But Brett changed his mind. I dont care if the guy changed his mind week 1 of the season. He WAS a better option than Aaron Rodgers. I say was b/c its obvious with his bicep injury, something has to be done with that before he can come back. They werent adjusting thier plans yearly....they did it once cuz Favre retired. I understand that each year for the past decade or so, Favre has speculated on retirement, but never did until 2007-2008. So adjustments werent made. Besides, it wasnt Favre's fault the Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers, investing a 1st rounder and a decent amount of money at the time. Also, I have said this before.....I dont think Favre was an angel throughout the situation, but the Packers were much worse. This is a personal vendetta by Favre. I cant really blame him. I would be much like how he is. Favre deserved better. Please. Favre retires then waltz back and just expects everyone to bend over backwards for him. The Titans treated McNair much worse. Who? Who does he want to bend over backwards? The only think Favre expected was for all he did for GB, he could come back and get his job. As far as McNair......no doubt he got worse treatment. Dude, was locked out of the team facilities. Thats garbage for a guy who put that franchise on the map in Tenn. But Tenn. got it in the end when they got stuck with Vince Young. So, Favre and his agent are claiming that he (Favre) is staying retired. Oh well, I think it's probably for the best, tbh. I have not heard this. But I am quite shocked if Favre came out and said that. I know Cook has been stating this since the rumors broke. But I would be shocked if Favre really was not coming back. Minnesota is the perfect place for him. Either Childress met with Favre and Brett didnt want to come to camp and wanted to come in the preseason to take over the starting job or Favre is in worse shape with his arm than initally thought.

I saw this rumor on Yahoo! sports:
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported the possibility of a future deal that would send Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets for running back Thomas Jones.
Responding to a question from a reader about the possibility of getting Jones from the Jets, the Plain Dealer indicated a deal including Edwards was a possibility.
The report noted the Jets now have depth at running back with Leon Washington and recently drafted Shonn Greene. It also reminded everyone that Jones is unhappy with his contract in New York.
It's unlikely the Jets would just cut Jones knowing he would be claimed immediately by Cleveland coach Eric Mangini, thus the possibility of a team between the two teams.
I found this list of FA WRs. Not sure how updated this is. I am shocked that Bryant was released from the Bucs after last season. But from what I can see.....I would love to see the Jets sign:
1. Marvin Harrison 2. Miles Austin 3. Drew Bennett 4. Antonio Bryant 5. Mike Furrey 6. Darrell Jackson 7. Lance Moore 8. Amani Toomer
No one on this list is a #1. NO ONE. However guys like Harrison, Bennett, Jackson and Toomer have great hands. Lance Moore probably has the biggest upside and Bryant probably has the opportunity to make the biggest impact.

- Miles Austin isn't a free agent. He's a restricted free agent. There's a big difference. - Lance Moore is also a restricted free agent. - Mike Furrey got signed by the Browns. - I believe Darrell Jackson is still under contract with the Broncos. - Antonio Bryant was given the franchise tag by the Buccaneers.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported the possibility of a future deal that would send Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets for running back Thomas Jones. I'd be absolutely shocked if this happened. Don't get me wrong, Thomas Jones is a decent running back, but he's not the kind of guy that you'd trade your No. 1 WR for. The Browns absolutely must get more than a 30 year old RB for a guy with talent like Edwards. I know Edwards drops a lot of passes, but he's far too talented to just be let go like that.

Yeah, I clearly remember Antonio Bryant getting the TB franchise tag. I don't know where you found that list, but it's completely false.

To whoever said Favre didn't hold the Packers off-season hostage only once..that's bullshit...he was doing the same crapsince Rodgers was drafted...not necessarily retiring, but extending the time in which he decided...it was horrible because the packers didn't know what the he wanted to do and if they had the money to work with(which they don't use anyway)

I just don't see how you can defend Favre in this whole situation. Just because he is a HOF'er and an all-time great doesn't mean that you need to adjust your franchise after him. Loyalty is one thing, but this is another. If you stay too loyal, it won't get you anywhere. Teams that play it smart move on from things like this. While it may look bad at first (like the Eagles letting go of Dawkins), it may eventually pan out.
I doubt Edwards for Thomas Jones would happen. The Browns would have to gain more, as Edwards is very talented even though he drops a lot of passes. He is still a #1 WR who is very young.
I'm not sure where Marvin Harrison will go. I wouldn't mind him on the Eagles, but it won't happen. I see Toomer going back to the Giants when it's all set and done.

The current rumors are that Marvin Harrison is going to retire... And I don't really blame him.

Kliquid is Hakeem Nicks actually gonna play any serious downs for the Giants this season or is he Mario Manningham availability?

Kliquid is Hakeem Nicks actually gonna play any serious downs for the Giants this season or is he Mario Manningham availability? I assume he's going to play quite a bit, given the Giants' current lack of depth at WR... But I guess we'll have to wait to see how things shake up in training camp.

BIG NEWS: The Dolphins renamed their stadium to Landshark Stadium.
Oh yeah, Brett Favre has reportably sent X-rays of his injured shoulder and if the shoulder doesn't require major surgery, Favre will likely sign with the Vikes.

Do you have any relation to Rory Boettcher? I forgot to post the list too. DAMN! It was taken from NFL.com, but posted on a message board. To whoever said Favre didn't hold the Packers off-season hostage only once..that's bull ****...he was doing the same **** since Rodgers was drafted...not necessarily retiring, but extending the time in which he decided...it was horrible because the packers didn't know what the he wanted to do and if they had the money to work with(which they don't use anyway) Taking his time to decide? Whats wrong with that? It wasnt like he waited until week 1 or even the preseason. You knew he was coming back sometime during camp. I'm not saying its a perfect scenario, but you cut some slack to legends. BIG NEWS: The Dolphins renamed their stadium to Landshark Stadium. Oh yeah, Brett Favre has reportably sent X-rays of his injured shoulder and if the shoulder doesn't require major surgery, Favre will likely sign with the Vikes. I heard this as well. Its pretty evident that no one really knows what is going on and everything should be taken with a grain of salt.

Lance Moore resigned with the Saints CM, he's a nice lil receiver but, Drew Brees can make any WR look good with his on the mark passes.

Looks like it's gonna be another summer with the Brett Favre saga. I really wish he would just go away.
