lol well in this case both mine and MWLs paintjobs suck.. lol. This was a fun one to do but I didnt work my best on it. I got one im trying very hard on for next friday. Hopefully its better than this one...

Putting more work into it doesn't translate into a win if it's sloppy. Actually that is how it works here for the most part, good clean customs loose out to crappy molding and clumpy paint jobs more often than not. Glad to see you still trying to take your digs at me. |

It wasn't a dig at you, or well not only at you. It's a dig at the whole customs competitions in general - i've seen way too much b.s. like Gore beating Famous J with a figure my lil nephew could make. Stuff you makes works well for how things are set up, and thats good for you - where my stuff works better in the main Jakks figure board where people like me enjoy figures that match Jakks produced figures. |

Just out of curiosity...what other customizers are you talking about? anyways I think dream and MWL could do better but at least they attempted to post some new sh** on this board. This place has been pretty dead as of late and the only new things being posted are fixups and questions that belong in the custom support board. MWL- The Tyson looks good but as it has been pointed out the blue showing on the inside of his thigh is very distracting and really takes away from the custom. I wish you tried to do more to it like maybe modify the abs so they aren't so defined as well as the arms. But everything looks clean besides the blue part. Dream- I like all the work that went into this and I think the skintone is okay but would be 10 times better if you had applied a wash to it after. It looks like you might use a couple of drops of red in your skintones. I suggest just sticking with tans, beige, white, orange, brown, and yellow. Throw in a testors flat tan with regular acrylics and it will come out better and you won't have people on this site bitching because you actually are attempting to improve on your painting skills. I know how disheartening it can be to paint and sculpt so much on a figure and have people really pick it a part. Then the next day a "diva custom" with nothing but printouts glued onto it will be posted and it gets nothing but "OMGZ 10/10" replies. But just ignore those people. You are improving with each custom and these mistake are necessary so that you know not to do them again. The beard looks pretty good and the writing on the shorts is very well done but could be a bit straighter as well as the painting on the boots. But overall it is a solid piece that could be improved upon but I look forward to your next custom. |

MWL - Your figure looks very simple, but seems to work. My biggest complaint is that you didn't really capture Iron Mike that well. What I mean by this is that he wore much shorter, kind of baggy soccer looking shorts rather than longer MMA looking shorts. I would have gone for the puffier shorter shorts he wore which really captures him better. As well, I would have sculpted the thighs up a bit to capture his huge legs. DA parts in general do not really work for Tyson's build. Overall the modding to the legs and head looks good. The sculpting and painting however need some work. The gloves came out a perfect color.
Dream - Definitely not your best, and I know you've been working on this a bit at a time for a while now. The sculpting on the shorts is well done, but a little thick in some places(mainly the waist band). The paint job overall looks to be pretty smooth, just shakey in some places on the logos and lines. The skintone just needs 1-2 coats of a brown wash as Sandman said previously. Other than that I think you did quite well on this.
My vote goes to Dream. Primarily because I feel he capture the fighter better. MWL's figure doesn't scream Tyson to me.

has any one esle seen the back of "durans" legs?? how the red line just vanish and so does on the feet?? also the socks are not even straight or correct??All i did was mess up on not painting on elittle area which i=s now painted and only took one second to fix.I imagine if u twist dreams fig all the paint would scrape off .............. Im just trying to land a few more punches Dream , you suck LOL damn waist cant even twist or the sculpty would brake LOL

Okay well I really hope that me saying something didn't start all of this fighting. I don't think it did. I have told NyDream that I was just judging by the ref. pic that was pictured. I do like his customs but this one did seem like it was a little more rushed than his. Ny's customs are usually VERY good. I was just stating a fact based on a picture I didn't mean anything bad by it. The Tyson was plainer than Ny's custom but I did like that one better in this battle. If maybe Ny takes more time next time it will look better. But if my fighting started this whole entire battle I didn't mean for anything bad to start from it.

i voted NYdream, Warriors are always sloppy in areas and really how hard is it to paint all the trunks black on him? plus he didn't do a skin tone. Not to mention he's losing so he points out all the flaws on his opponents piece. No class at all and no sportsmanship.
