The glass ceiling forever traps Carlito in the upper-midcard.

The night I saw Carlito debut and punk out Cena, I said this man is WWE champion material.
He still is, but not in his jobber tag team outfit.

I think he's very good in the ring and if repackaged can do well. To be honest, his look (yeah ... the hair) and goofy/awkward mic skills hold him back a bit.
You never know, it's so hard to tell when or if WWE will push someone and sometimes it seems like WWE doesn't push wrestlers that it seems they really, obviously should push. And sometimes WWE just pushes guys and I'm like "Why are they even trying to push this guy? He's not that great."
Think of John Morrison. He's gone back-and-forth for years ... tag team, then he went singles to Ic level, then a team, then singles ECW level and then he was w/ Miz and now it looks like he's FINALLY gonna get that big singles push, but who knows if you can depend on that?
Right now, it doesn't look like Carlito's going much of anywhere except tag-team purgatory. I think to make it as a singles guy he's gonna need to be repackaged w/ a new theme and look to be taken more seriously and he's gonna have to work on his mix skills a bit.

06-07? Carlito was a huge star in 05, he went from interrupting Stone Cold at WrestleMania to being drafted to Raw, turning face, and fading into obscurity. Hey, that reminds me of someone... oh yeah, Kennedy. Except Carlito has managed to avoid injuries so he's still around. It also reminds me of Shelton and MVP. I don't what WWE's obsession is with drafting young heels from Smackdown to Raw and turning them face. So far it hasn't really worked out.

He was awesome back in early '06 and early in his face run, but he seems to have lost all the steam he had singles wise.

really hope he reaches that..he deserves it but they're is a good chance it wont happen
he couldnt even get a WM match when his feuds were on fire. 1 w/ flair and everybody was eating it up and 2 his tag feud w/ miz and morrison. it's obvious him and triple h hate each other so it's honestly up to how much people buy into the b.s.
he has great matches -- a huge move set that wont leave you with the exact same thing every match -- great on the mic -- etc

His ceiling is himself. He just started to become frustrated with writers and such

If I had been asked this in December 2005 when he qualified for the Elimination Chamber match at New Years Revolution I would have said sefinatly but WWE seemed to just give up eiyh him. 2005 and 2006 were his best years.

Carlito doesnt have a ceiling himself, the only ceiling he has is the one that WWE built on top of him. He's got what it takes to be on the top but WWE chosses who does what.

he'll never quite make it. he isn't stale, but his gimmick is and it's too established now to just have him pick a different one. don't get me wrong, it could be done, but i doubt wwe would want to put that much of their time into developing him.

They had a great oppotunity with Carlito late '05 early '06. He was as ing over as Cena, Batista, Edge...all of them. But as per usual, the WWE dropped the ball. As much as I would love to see it, Carlito is never getting past the IC/US title zone.

He'll get the big one eventually, I'd say within two years tbh. I was watchin his match on Superstars (v. WGTT) and I forgot how much I liked the guy. There is no one his size who can move like him.

Unfortunatly I don't see Carlito ever main eventing for World Championships in WWE. I thought he was on fire in 05/06 but as said, the trigger was never pulled.

His feud with HHH was more or less to give someone to HHH to job to on his return after Booker.

WWE seems to like Primo over Carlito & the main reason they were put in as a team is because WWE wants Carlito to improve & surpass his brother to be a better wrestler

I want to see Carlito potentially make his way back to main event contention again...there's really no other Latino stars I can think of believably winning a world title within the next five years. Seeing as how huge a fanbase the WWE find the hispanic audience to be, they should move him to SD! following his great tag run with Primo, and eventually start feuds that can lead to his build into the big leagues once again.

To the Kennedy reference, I think he will pull a Christian on us. My opinion... I'm not trying to turn this into another one of these threads.
Carlito, just doesn't have "the look" anymore IMO. If you asked me this 3 years ago, I'd say he was a future world champion. He was well... cool. He didn't wear those awful baggy pants, and he didn't wear a generic Raw t-shirt whilst walking down to the ring, either. Sorry, I don't see it anymore. Turning him face, the first time killed him IMO.

I think he's the highest he ever will be again. If the Colons break up, they'll have a short feud that Primo will win, and both will fade into obscurity before Carlito is released. Its sad but very true.
