Genuinely devastated for him. Quality player, one who had a massive future. Was a huge fan of his, just thought he oozed class. As much as I hate to say it, it is a good decision by him. Just think about what happened to Antonio Puerta and Dani Jarque. Remember watching this and just fearing the worst after watching Phil O'Donnell about a year earlier:
Atleast he's alive. Hope he has a successful coaching career.

Columbus Crew losing their first playoff game = Los Angeles Galaxy winning their first playoff game = I'm a Crew fan, and as such, I just can't want the Galaxy to win, no matter how much I love Lando.

Poor De La Red, he was a quality player but beside that it is so sad to see him retire because of that. It's not even because its an injury, very sad indeed. Very good of Real to give him a coaching position too, something I hope he excels in.

Congrats to Colorado on winning the MLS Cup. For Dallas to lose on an own-goal in extra time...it's disheartening for them. I couldn't even imagine.

Dragged my girlfriend around the Parc Des Princes while I was in Paris last week. It's a Classic Ground, glad I went there. We did the Tour, I was a bit let down at the fact that they had no reference or memoribillia of any of the Legends that have played there. I was expecting to see Ronaldinho's Boots, Djorkaeff's Shirts, stuff worn and won by George Weah, David Ginola, Rai, Loko etc but it was literally just the usual Trophy Room, Changing Rooms and Pitch Tour. Was still good to tick off the list though.

Good, Barca's winning run finally ended last night, just hope Real Madrid get the 3 points and close the gap tonight. Real need to start being consistent and if they beat Barca next month(?) then the end of the season will be great.

Interesting draft for the MLS from what I've seen. I know I'm a day late a pound short and I still haven't finished it...but the two new clubs seem to have picked up some solid players.

After Real Madrid drawing last night and Barca winning, I now concede that Barcelona will win La Liga this season Just cannot see Barca losing 2 games even if they do lose to Madrid.

I think Barca should have it in the bag now, I know Pep wont announce it until the end but the players need to believe it. Just wish I could be there last home game of the season.
All respects to Madrid, they've been brilliant this season and I'm not writing them off at all. They must keep Mourinho or it spells trouble. If they keep this guy, they will win the title, I don't ever see this team beating Barcelona, but they need to be tactical and win it another way.
I'm lucky enough to have seen Barca play and have been a fan for many years since and this crop of Barca players is frightening.

I'm just hoping that they don't rest Players for the Almeria Game that I go to in 4 weeks. It's a week after Villareal Away, and a week before the Classico at the Bernabau. Barca already beat them 8-0 Away earlier this Season and 5-0 at Home in the Copa Del Rey. I've just got to hope that they get beat the week before so they are forced to play a good side and get the win. While this is probably the best footballing side of all time, the torch will go back to Real Madrid in about 3 years. Xavi will be 34/35 while the likes of Iniesta, Villa, Puyol, Abidal will all be into there thirties. While some Players are replacable, apart from Messi the main spine of the Team will be ageing and not have the legs. Right now they are in there absolute prime, and the current crop at Madrid are still by far a working project. In 3 years time though, the Madrid Side will of matured and all be in there prime, just as the Barca Side is comming to its end. This Barca Side in a couple of years time wont be able to deal with the Madrid Side in it's Prime. Barca Pime > Real Madrid Young Real Madrid Prime > Barca Old

I think you'll be in luck

Real Madrid 0-1 Sporting Gijon.
Mourinho's record has gone, 150 home games without defeat.
Amazing game, Gijon were incredible defensively, amazing effort.

Got back from Barcelona yesterday. Ended up getting quite a treat with the Almeria Game, saw Messi bag two and get an Assist, Villa hit the Post, Almeria took the lead and Barca played there full strength team (minus the Injured Puyol, Busquets and Valdez). Was a great Experience.
Did the Tour of the Nou Camp and the Olympic Stadium the following day, and the Tour of the new Espanyol Stadium the day after that. Got Pics on my facebook if you're interested.
