Basically, which gimmicks do you think could have been big (massive even) but were not given enough time / went in the wrong direction.
I personally can think of 4 right now
Sean O'Haire - Devils Advocate Such a cool gimmick and really fresh, he could have gone so far in allowed to, also... i feel he is one of the few characters who could have sort of 'broke the 4th wall' when it comes to wrestling. Also, the guy had a demonic look and great in ring skill
Mordecai - Religous Crusader Ok... the guy may have been dressed in a ridiculous white outfit, but he was still ridiculously green, but the gimmick he had was again a really good one and was an interesting twist on the evil gothic gimmick. Also, is it just be or could Sean O'Haire vs Mordecai been a really interesting fued when you think about it... a Religous Crusader, preaching what he believes against a Devils Advocate, preaching against what anyone believes
Phantasio - Magician Laugh if you must, this guy was atleast different (and not dressed as a giant bull). Sure, i couldn't see him headlining Wrestlemania with the gimmick, but it was something that i thought was actually interesting and pretty clever compared to some of the poopy of the early 90's
Kizarny - Carnival Freak Yes, i'm probably gonna get ridiculed for this as most people seem to think he was an awful in ring wrestler, but you can't really say that after seeing him twice... If you watch the shoot interview with Kizarny on youtube, it seems he basically know what was wrong with the character, things such as 1) The vingettes should have been filmed at a creepier place 2) Considering his appearance, should have been heel 3) (this is a biggie), his entire promo's shouldn't be in carny... yea, let him slip the odd bit in, but carny is supposed to be a secret language and if he'd speaking in riddles for the entire time... people will get bored oh so quick
So yea, those are mine... what about you?

I agree with O'Haire. I think they could've REALLY pushed him when they had the chance. Now instead like most former WWE Wrestlers....he wrestles in a MMA ring or Octagon.

I didn't think any of them had potential and Mordecai was better as Kevin Thorn. Real missed opportunies?
Mr. Kennedy - Announcer turned future. Should have beat Batista at the Royal Rumble 2007 and should have kept the Money in the Bank briefcase, and used it at Wrestlemania 24.
Kenny Dykstra - Cheerleader turned serious. Fresh face, had a good win over Flair, seemed to be getting a push and then BAM! released. Such a waste...
Elijah Burke - Boxer or whatever. Great wrestler, and was gold in the New Breed. I just wish he got the ECW title at some point, considering he was the top heel on that show for a while.
Booker T - at this time, a chump. Should have defeated Triple H at Wrestlemania 19... he was made look like a tool, the whole way through. Good he got the belt in 2006 though...

Waylon Mercy. I am not kidding either. I think he had a main event potential for several different reasons.

Michael Wallstreet in WCW circa 1990. Mike Rotunda was AWESOME as Michael Wallstreet, pretty much it was IRS, but in the reverse way. I for sure could've seen him challenging Sting for the World title at that point.

I agree on Sean O'Haire and Mordecai. These are mine:
Mordecai Would have loved to see an Undertaker vs. Mordecai feud
Sean O'Haire Loved his promos in 2003. Could have made a good World Champion
Elijah Burke A big fan of him when the New Breed came. He should have gotten the ECW Title in 2007. Would have loved to see him replace Benoit at Vengeance: Night of Champions and have him win the title.
Marcus Cor Von He could have made a great ECW Champion like Elijah Burke, then move to Smackdown or Raw and have him feud for the World Title or WWE Title

Im going back a bit but Vinnie should have done more with Public Enemy.
at that time they would have fit in very well to the Dudleys,Hardys,E&C mix.plus ECW never really had a proper PE vs Dudleys feud so that would have been great.

I was actually a big fan of Phantasio when he was in USWA as Spellbinder. Had they kept him like that and not made it sillier, it could have been really cool. I mostly agree with your others too... I can't think of my own right off, but I'll come back to this when I have.

Kizarny- I was really hyped by his vignettes and all but, like you said, the carny talk was pretty annoying. I think he should have like put in random things in his promos in carny talk that wouldn't have a incentive on the promo. I also think he should have been a heel. Sean O'Haire- I can't really think of anything they should have done anything, he just didn't last sadly. Peace

I totally agree with Waylon Mercy. It's too bad he had such a short run with that great gimmick. I loved it. I still remember his awesome vignettes that aired. Those were so creepy, I thought.
He may not have been the greatest in the ring, but Danny Spivey sure pulled off the Waylon Mercy character, that's for sure. It was custom made for him. Nobody else could've done it better.
