Kurt Angle held the WCW World title while in the WWE, and also held the WWE and WHC title for 5 times so that is 6.
In Japan he won the IWGP World title which gives us 7.
In TNA he won their World title twice, which gives us 9.
I hear he recognizes his Gold Medal as a World Champion status so that makes it 10.
Is 11 and 12 his two NCAA Division 1 titles?
What makes Angle a 12-time World Champion?

Source wikipedia:
TNA World Heavyweight Championship (2 times) + WCW World Heavyweight Championship (1 time) + World Heavyweight Championship (1 time) + WWF/E Championship (4 times) + IWGP Third Belt Championship (1 time) + PPW Heavyweight Championship (1 time) ------------------------------------------ That makes 10 so I don't know where the other title reigns comes into play..
Maybe he does count his gold medals since they are kinda world titles.
He has been world champ a lot. He almost gives HHH a run for his money.

I used Wikipedia and I kinda find it a far stretch to say that PPW heavyweight title is a world title... what country is it's origin and when was it defended outside of the home country? TNA world title would be a stretch if not for the mexico shennanigans from a few years back.

I don't see how that's a "stretch" at all.

I believe he counts his NWA title win from the 3way dance with him, Sting & Christian where Angle won, controversaly, and the title was held up which led to the TNA World Title being created.

Instead of trying to make light of his "world titles" let's keep in mind that the man is the most decorated professional wrestler ever when it comes to titles held and what he's acheived

I doubt you can count his Tag Title cause then you would have to count the ones in WWE (i think he had 1 or 2) and also his X Division reign

His one and only tag title reign in WWE was with the WWE Tag Team Titles not the World Tag Team Titles and the X Division title (as far as i'm aware) has never been classed as a World title.
