I'd have to definitely go with the Undertaker.
The guy has been around since the 90's, and the fans still love him, and still get that shiver down their spines when he enters the ring. Did he bring in as much money as Rock, Austin, or Hogan? Maybe not as much, but he did bring in money, and as someone mentioned earlier, his character has evolved so much since his first match and the fans accepted it and loved it, whether he was the badass or the deadman.
Personally, I think as a successful CHARACTER, I'd say 'Taker. Now if the question was who made the biggest draw in wrestling, without question it'd be Hogan, Austin, and Rock.

Stone Cold Character was created by Paul Heyman in ECW, so technically he shouldn't count as a THE MOST SUCCESFUL CHARACTER WWE ever created. ...I still cannot give Heyman a shread of credit for stonecold being stonecold. Sure, Heyman let Austin say what he wanted to say... and do what he wanted to do... .....But do you really think Austin would have become the Attitude Icon that he became if he was wearing Zubas pants and dressing like Hulk Hogan doing terrible impressions? Probably not. WWF/E Austin is nothing like ECW Austin, in any form or way...and if he was, he would have failed miserably.

I think your analysis is very good. By ost measures of success in wrestling are measured by money and Taker was never a top draw for WWE which is why I chose Austin, who was a successful character and drew more money than anybody. That said, I would agree that all around Undertaker is perhaps the most sucessful pure 'character' WWE has created, especially for him to be almost 20 years removed from his debut and still be able to enthrall fans.

I believe Undertaker is the only true created character on that list so its got to be him. But any other list of characters Taker would still win.
I really wouldnt include HHH and HBK as characters. I think even the Rock and Austin is a stretch. I see them more as personalities.

WWE didn't create Hulk Hogan or "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, really; so I'm going to go with The Undertaker.

I would say Austin or Taker. I don't know that Hogan can be considered made by WWE. I know the argument is definitely there for both sides, but I just don't know.
