The NOAH match from GBH6 Night 1 was great, the finish I didn't really expect I wish it would have went longer. Was still amazing to see Misawa in an ROH ring.
I also watched El Generico vs Dragon Kid from BOLA 07, seemed a little sloppy at some point but, it was good. Watching selective matches from BOLA 07 I was lent the DVD.
Anyone suggest some matches from BOLA 07?

Anyone suggest some matches from BOLA 07? All of the Alex Shelley matches were really good, particularly his match with Roderick Strong on Night 3. CIMA/Strong/Generico was a fun three way and a worthy close to the tournament.

Lots of match watching today, everything 2009, save one. I re-watched two and watched quite a few for the first time. I'm going to start putting my MOTYC list together soon.
AJPW 6/9/95 - Toshiaki Kawada and Akira Taue vs. Mitsuharu Misawa and Kenta Kobashi I never get enough of this match. If there's anything I'd like to add, it's that had Kobashi not been injured with his leg taped up, this match probably wouldn't have been as good as it was. Kawada and Taue kept kicking at that injured leg and Kobashi would fire back. The crowd was insanely hot for those spots. ***** (This rating will never change.)
NOAH 3/1/09 - Shinsuke Nakamura and Milano Collection AT vs. Takashi Sugiura and Go Shiozaki There's nothing I can really say about this match that hasn't already been said besides that I love me some Sugsy. And the PUNCH of death, which must always be mentioned when reviewing this or the New Japan 1/4/09 tag match. ****1/4 (I liked it better this time around on DVD.)
NOAH 3/1/09 - Kensuke Sasaki vs. Jun Akiyama It was a really slow paced match. But did they beat the hell out of each other or what? Won't make my list but a very solid match. **3/4
DDT 4/5/09 - Kota Ibushi vs. Taiji Ishimori If you love spots, you will love this match. That's all there is to it. Not only do they incorporate spots into this match, but they also have some very nice ring psychology involved with Ishimori targeting Ibushi's leg with attacks and submissions. I think it hurt a little bit when Ibushi would no-sell it. So it made the psychology rather useless in the end. Although it worked for a couple minutes. But there was still plenty to love about this match. You will probably find people out there who enjoyed this match more than me. But I enjoyed it a lot and I highly recommend it. ***3/4
NOAH 7/5/09 - Go Shiozaki vs. KENTA Awesome, just awesome match. I loved it. From the chops to the kicks to the chop/kick war, everything was just fantastic. ****
NOAH 7/12/09 - Atsushi Aoki and Kota Ibushi vs. KENTA and Taiji Ishimori YES, KENTA and Ishimori are back together. Aoki really shined here and has a fantastic future in pro-wrestling. This match kind of reminded me of the NTV Cup classic from 2007 and that's a huge compliment. The only difference is Aoki in place of Marufuji. ****1/4 __________________________________________________
On my to watch list for matches from 2009...
NOAH 3/1 - Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. KENTA (re-watch) NJPW 4/5 - Kurt Angle vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi NOAH 5/17 - Jun Akiyama vs. KENTA NOAH SEM 5/18 - Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Atsushi Aoki AJPW 6/21 - Satoshi Kojima vs. Nobutaka Araya NOAH 6/22 - Kensuke Sasaki and Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Go Shiozaki and KENTA WWE 6/28 - Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio

NOAH SEM 5/18/09 - Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Atsushi Aoki For the people who said Misawa couldn't go anymore, I bet he proved the doubters wrong here. They start off with amazing headlock takeover exchanges and a nice wrestling sequence. This is pretty good for a match that only lasted a little under ten minutes. Misawa sold very well for Aoki here and made him look like a million bucks. Aoki is the future. He keeps showing it over and over. It's time for Aoki to shine. **1/4
2009 to watch list NOAH 3/1 - Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. KENTA (re-watch) NJPW 4/5 - Kurt Angle vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi NOAH 5/17 - Jun Akiyama vs. KENTA
NOAH SEM 5/18 - Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Atsushi Aoki AJPW 6/21 - Satoshi Kojima vs. Nobutaka Araya NOAH 6/22 - Kensuke Sasaki and Katsuhiko Nakajima vs. Go Shiozaki and KENTA WWE 6/28 - Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio

Mitsuharu Misawa/KENTA VS Takeshi Morishima/Naomichi Marifuji, ROH Glory By Honor IV.
A thirty minute time limit draw? No matter, a tremendous showing IMO...RIP Misawa.

Tatsuhito Takaiwa vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru (GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title) (1/8/05) Excellent match here.. Started off fast, and hit a slower pace until the finish.. Very hard hitting match, with a very exciting finish back and forth finish.. Classic King's Road finish.. Great showing by both men, as always.. ****
Tatsuhito Takaiwa vs. Takashi Sugiura (GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title) (12/23/06) Very different match than I was expecting.. Different, but good.. A very slow paced match, but not necessarily bad slow.. Sugi was really put over with amount of lariats he took without even budging.. ***1/2
Taiyo Kea vs. Mitsuya Nagai (2/24/02) Haven't seen very much of Nagai at all, so I didn't know what to expect with this one.. Nagai impressed me the first time I saw him, and he did again here.. Classic Kea match here.. Multiple false finishes, really putting Nagai over.. Rather exciting match, and was a nice surprise.. ***1/4
Joe Doering vs Kaz Hayashi (Champion Carnival - Block A) (4/5/09) Didn't really expect much going in, but I was pleasantly surprised with how good this match actually was.. Put Doering over as a strong, dominate guy, and Kaz over as the smaller, but agile guy who uses his size and speed to take down the big guy.. Obviously not the best match ever, but surprisingly good.. ***
Taiyo Kea vs ZODIAC (5/17/09) Not quite sure what I was expecting in this, but it turned out to be a half decent little match.. ZODIAC was surprisingly over, I have no clue where he got so over from, lol.. Again I say, classic Kea match, with nice brawling on the outside.. Joe Doering interference lead to the demise of ZODIAC, which leads me to the next match.. This match, however, turned out to be alright.. **3/4
ZODIAC vs Joe Doering (6/21/09) Guilty pleasure here, was totally excited for this match.. Classic big man vs big man, but with ZODIAC making little rookie mistakes that lead to his demise.. After the match, all of the VOODOO Murderers put over ZODIAC, with Doer scoffing and scowling the whole time, furthering the resentment between the two.. ZODIAC was totally over with the crowd.. Match delivered to my excitement, but not to someone who probably wasn't as excited for it.. **1/2
