Kiyoshi Tamura vs. Tsuyoshi Kohsaka (RINGS 6/27/98) Possibly the best shoot-style match ever. Tamura's transitioning and strikes and Kohsaka's flash submissions were top notch in this match. It also told a story, unlike most shoot-style matches. Tamura could not get it done on the mat due to Kohsaka locking in submissions out of nowhere. So he brought it to the feet and was out striking him. Then Tamura almost collapsed Kohsaka's lungs with a Muay Thai knee. Ouch!

PWG "Seven" - I've never watched any PWG before so I thought I'd start with this show and it was really awesome, and El Generico and Paul London vs. Matt and Nick Jackson vs. Brandon and Dustin Cutler was just purely amazing. And now I think I'm going to start getting into PWG more.
Also it's not a match or an event but I finally finished the London/Kendrick shoot interview and I liked both of these guys before but I like them so much more after watching this, so hilarious.

PWG "Battle of Los Angeles" nights 1 and 2- I think I'm starting to love PWG, Hero and Tozawa was probably my favorite match of both nights but London and Strong and Ryan and Hero were also pretty awesome.

Kena Kobashi/Mitsuharu Misawa VS Yuji Nagata/Jun Akiyama, NOAH, 2002.
- Biggest props to Kobashi and Akiyama in this one, their chemistry is always fantastic to watch, however this one was far from Misawa's best, and Nagata looked a tad out of place. Still fun, with great sequences.

PWG "Titannica" - Richards/Strong for the title was easily the best match of the show but London/Generico was a lot of fun.
PWG "DDT4" (2010) - A lot of really good tag matches and the Danger Bees winning was awesome.

Tabe's Best of Kiyoshi Tamura Vol. 1: (Called by some the greatest shoot-style wrestler of all-time, Tamura is one of the few to successfully transition into legit MMA contests. Unlike Sakuraba, however, Tamura would continue to do worked matches even in the middle of his MMA career. See the beginnings of this superstar here - trace his start in UWF, through a horrible injury, to stardom in UWFi and a controversial shoot!)
Best of Kiyoshi Tamura Vol. 1 disc 1
1. Kiyoshi Tamura Debut Match: Kiyoshi Tamura vs. Minoru Suzuki (UWF 5/21/89) Fun debut and short match here. You had a young MiSu taking on an even younger (and debuting) Tamura. Very even match. *3/4
2. Kiyoshi Tamura vs. Akira Maeda (UWF 10/25/89) Tamura came out like a house afire just repeatedly letting Maeda have it with open hand strikes. This apparently pissed off the much more experienced Maeda. This is the match where Maeda just killed Tamura with Muay Thai knees which put Tamura out for over a whole year. Extremely fun for a two or three minute match. *1/2

Currently finishing ROH's Tag Wars 2010. I also watched Champions' Challenge last night.
Couple of solid shows so far, made just a little bit better with Kevin Kelly on play-by-play. So glad that they are using him for the DVD shows now. Commentary for the better part of the last year or so has been sub-par because whoever they had in there sounded bored or seemed to have no idea how to really do it. Kevin brought consistent energy to both shows and I really hope ROH keeps him around. His energy has helped to keep Prazak into it as well, because now HE is sounding energetic and much better than he has is some time outside of the HDNet shows.

I just finished ROH Motor City Madness 2009. It seemed like Richards and Steen were really beating the crapout of each other in the main event.
