Jack Evans and Roderick Strong vs Super Dragon and Davey Richards. Dont remember what show, but it was on the PWG sells out DVD. Everyone was boss in this match.
And I felt a little old school and watched Nick Mondo vs Ric Blade in a Barbed Wire Ladder Match.

Mitsuharu Misawa SP 11 disc set - New Year's Eve 2009 Special
I'm only going to review the complete matches. There are a few very clipped matches in this set that are being excluded. I have seen them in the past. But I don't remember enough about them to do a review on them.
Disc 1
AJPW 4/22/83 - Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Shiro Koshinaka Dull, okay match. But what were you expecting? Misawa was still a Young Lion. Koshinaka hadn't hit his prime either. They would have a much better match twenty years later in NOAH. **
AJPW 8/28/84 - Tiger Mask II vs. La Fiera Solid action. Misawa proved that he had what it took to fill Satoru Sayama's shoes as the new Tiger Mask. But his best matches were yet to come. **3/4
AJPW 6/21/85 - Tiger Mask II vs. Kuniaki Kobayashi Probably Misawa's best match as Tiger Mask II (besides the previous match against Kobayashi) until his match against Jumbo Tsuruta in three years. Of course this wasn't as good as the 3/9/85 classic against Kobayashi but it was still pretty great. ****
AJPW 11/27/85 - Tiger Mask II vs. Dynamite Kid Of course this wasn't going to match up Tiger Mask I and Dynamite's classics in New Japan. But for what they did, it was good. The first couple minutes were very lucha based. Then it was all Dynamite from there with Tiger Mask attempting to make a comeback. Good match. ***
AJPW 3/13/86 - Tiger Mask II vs. Riki Choshu I loved the story here. Choshu was beating Tiger like "You're going to have to get us veterans' respect the hard way." destroying him with lariats, twisting him in submissions and so on. Loved it. Choshu's badass. ***
AWA 4/19/86 - Tiger Mask II and Giant Baba vs. Ronnie Garvin and Magnum TA Not much to say here. The fans were really looking forward to seeing Baba, though. **1/4
AJPW 6/1/86 - Tiger Mask II vs. Genichiro Tenryu Good match. Tenryu was being the usual dick and bullying the younger guys by stiffing Tiger Mask II. ***1/4
Disc 2
AJPW 3/9/88 - Tiger Mask II vs. Jumbo Tsuruta This match was much different when comparing it to their classic two years later, not exactly for the worst. It's hard to say bad things about this match. It's still amazing but obviously not as good as the 6/8/90 match. It started off slow paced for the first few minutes but kicked into high gear. Jumbo actually had the crowd thinking Misawa had a chance near the end with that out of nowhere small package hold. He was very, very, VERY good at that. Excellent, excellent match. ****1/2
AJPW 5/14/90 - Tiger Mask II and Toshiaki Kawada vs. Yoshiaki Yatsu and Samson Fuyuki I usually don't review clipped matches. But 11:55 of 18:35 was shown. So that's enough to do a match review. Yes, this is THE match, the match where Tiger Mask removes his mask, goes wild, kicks ass and would become to the badass force that would be known as Mitsuharu Misawa. The crowd was super hot when he removed his mask and chanted "Misawa! Misawa! Misawa!". Awesome match and one of the coolest moments ever. ***1/2
AJPW 6/8/90 - Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Jumbo Tsuruta Absolutely perfect. There's really nothing else you can say about this match that hasn't been said already. I don't think there has been one match from the 2000s yet to capture the importance and greatness of this match. It's the effect that this match had on the pro-wrestling industry that most people miss. This is the match where Misawa became "The Man". If it wasn't for Jumbo Tsuruta, Mitsuharu Misawa and this match in general, so many things would be different right now, in both Japanese and American pro-wrestling, hell... all around the world. The crowd was behind Misawa the whole time. Everything made sense. Every move made sense. Every move was done at the right time. The crowd ate it up. Every single moment of that match build up to the next. These two were the absolute best at that. If there's anything I'd like to add that wasn't in my first review of this match, it's that if you're looking for a stiff fest with head drops galore, you're looking at the wrong match. This match would ignite the fire that would be known as the All Japan Famous Five. This very finish did that. It's crazy to think about. This match is what most wrestlers miss today. These two understood what most wrestlers do not. You don't need a million head drops, moonsaults, ten thousand false finishes, a spotfest or a million kicks and elbows to have a great match. These two went far beyond great with this match. This match IS pro-wrestling. *****
AJPW 7/24/91 - Mitsuharu Misawa and Toshiaki Kawada vs. Terry Gordy and Steve Williams Awesome match. These two teams had great chemistry. ****
Disc 3
AJPW 9/4/91 - Mitsuharu Misawa and Toshiaki Kawada vs. Jumbo Tsuruta and Akira Taue Awesome match. Near thirty minutes of action. Misawa had to tape his shoulder up. Taue and Jumbo stuck to the strategy and attacked his injured shoulder. Finally Misawa just tore the tape off and went to work double teaming Jumbo with a double suplex. The finish is very shocking and proved why Jumbo was All Japan and Misawa was the new man. ****1/4
AJPW 8/22/92 - Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Stan Hansen The emotion was definitely there. Everyone in the crowd wanted Misawa to pull out the huge win for his first Triple Crown reign. This match told a great story and it was very stiff, as expected. ***3/4
DGUSA Enter the Dragon PPV (7/25/09)
DGUSA 7/25/09 - BxB Hulk vs. YAMATO Awesome, awesome opener. Great choice to open up the show. It got the crowd hot. ***3/4
DGUSA 7/25/09 - Hallowicked, Gran Akuma, Icarus and Amasis vs. Mike Quackenbush, Fire Ant, Soldier Ant and Jigsaw Damn, there was some innovative moves in this match, stuff I have never even seen while watching lucha. This impressed the hell out of me. ****1/4
DGUSA 7/25/09 - Masato Yoshino vs. Dragon Kid Another great match. The hits just keep on coming. ****
DGUSA 7/25/09 - CIMA and Susumu Yokosuka vs. The Young Bucks JESUS CHRIST. This was a definite MOTYC. It must be seen. ****1/2
DGUSA 7/25/09 - Shingo vs. Naruki Doi Very, very stiff. Perfect way to conclude the show. ****1/4
My MOTYC 2009 list definitely needs to be redone after this show.

Mitsuharu Misawa and Go Shiozaki vs Katsuyori Shibata and KENTA 12-4-05
This was a really great match here.. Misawa was in for a lot of the match, and took some gnarly spots.. He pretty much goes pissed off at Shibata during that match (I wonder why this was one of Shibata's last NOAH matches......).. Misawa took a crazy head bump and a Doomsday Device spot.. Shibata won too!! First time I've even seen him win a match.. I wish Shibata would have stayed around.. Him and KENTA could have easily been Tag Champions.. ****

NOAH 12/4/05 - Mitsuharu Misawa and Go Shiozaki vs. Katsuyori Shibata and KENTA Awesome match. I love how at the beginning, Shibata just murdered Go. So he tags in Misawa who can go elbow for elbow with Shibata. And he does exactly that. Misawa's like "Hit me harder. I will knock you on your ass" and he did just that. Misawa wins the exchange. Later on, Misawa is on the apron. Shibata throws an elbow. Misawa dodges. Shibata backs up and kicks him off the apron. I think that legit pissed Misawa off. Misawa just gives him a death stare. Shibata and KENTA go to work on Go in the ropes taking turns kicking him. That was a sick spot. Misawa also took a really sick bump, doomsday device. Damn great match. I wish we had gotten a Misawa/Shibata singles match. ***3/4

Such an awesome write-up there Cozy, and it's funny, as I recently re-watched this, this time with my brother, who like me, were big fans of Misawa. The feel of this match is indescribable, and it is most definitely one of those matches that you were glad to immerse yourself in, truly incredible....
