5 hours? I don't see how it took you 5 hours. As long as you're happy with it but it doesn't belong on the board...not very good.

I have to admit, this is probably in the top 5 worst customs I have seen.
Here's what I suggest:
From the looks of it, you are using testors enamel paint and cheap brushes. Testor's enamel does not dry correctly on plastic, which is why you have stickiness and mess on the wrists and arms, even looks like on your ring too.
Go to a Michaels or Hobby Lobby and buy some Acrylic Craft paint. Usually they have a big setup with several brands including Delta Ceramcoat, Folk Art, and Americana. Get the proper paint colors from one of those brands.
Also buy a $10 set of paint brushes.
If you are using Delta Ceramcoat or Folk Art, I'd recommend adding about half a teaspoon of water to the bottle to help thin it out a little.
When painting take your time, let things dry before painting more. If you use the proper materials and take your time, there is no reason why you couldn't have yourself a nice custom.
As Bio suggested, take some acetone and strip off the paint that has already been done. As well at this point you probably need a skintone.
Hell if nothing else, send me the figure and I'll fix it up for you for free and make it look right.
Don't let the comments on this board get you down. If you set your mind to it, you can accomplish just about anything. If you need any other tips or suggestions, there are plenty of us here who know what we're doing and would be glad to help out.

believe it or not, my first custom was like this. I have improved though.
1. Try bamboo skewers, it's smaller, but give you more detail then the 4'' brush you prob. used. (no offense) 2. Patience is a virtue 3. I prefer using a john cena head for surfer sting 4. if you're hand is unsteady, try putting on a flat surface while painting, such as a desk and work on it there.
If you're happy with it, then I guess that isn't such a bad thing after all.

Dude, if it works for you then I guess its fine, but you had to know that you'd get bashed before you posted this. Its terrible. You ruined a perfectly good action figure AND ruined your RSR mat. I don't know how old you are, but I'm gonna guess 11. Don't mess with daddy's paints again until you've practiced some more.
I don't mean to sound rude man, I just hate to see legit customs get bumped by this... this.

OMFG I don't see how anyone can be so crap at customising/painting LOL. I was seriously better than that when I was 4. It's not worth anyone giving tips because some people just can't do certain things, it just means you're probably better at doing other stuff than some people are though so I don't mean it offensively, I'm just saying you won't ever make a good custom, it's not really anything to lose sleep over or anything. I'm not even sure if this thread is supposed to be a joke or not.
Why didn't you just use the Ivan Drago figure as a Sting? It would've looked infinitely better and infinitely more like Sting, and a figure.

The entire paint job is a mess. The only props I can give you is for the head choice. Drago is a damn good one. But I dont even know where to start with the face paint. The tights are just sloppy and you need to take your time. But the face paint?

My opinions on this...figure. My parents taught me that if I have nothing good to say, do not say anything at all.
I mean, I have only made a couple customs and some fix-ups, so I am no pro, but I will just say to take your time.

I'm convinced that this guy is messing with the whole board and having a mighty fine laugh at all of us... He knows what he's doing, and for that I give this custom a 10 out of 10
Good work man, you even had me going on that stage!

Wow. This post has achieved 2 whole pages. I rest my case. I have to agree with Gonzo. Use a paint that is less permenant (acrylic). Buy small brushes...
USE A REFERENCE PHOTO!!!!!

Very Sloppy painting. I don't think he wore that attire ever.
