Good thing they shut down before Douglas could get the title...

I don't remember... I remember REVOLUTION, but not the Triple Threat - and I stuck around WCW untill the bitter end...
Look up some Nitro archives and keep us posted

He did well in ECW, but WCW was a different beast where only established & credible main eventers got near the top. (Install own Arquette joke here!!) No way was Douglas ever getting the World title in WCW.

if memory serves me correct I believe they unofficially formed for like a week or two and nothing else ever came of it afterward. It was too bad as I think they would have done well as a trio.

Douglas would of been an awesome champ.

Douglas would've made for a great heel World Champion.
Much better than Vince Russo's proposed choice to wear the strap-- Tank Abbott.

As probably the biggest WCW fan on WF.. I totally give my vote of approval to Shane Douglas as WCW Champion.
The problem was.. at the end of WCW, Shane Douglas and Lance Storm would have only looked like main eventers because there weren't as many main eventers. You had Sting, Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, Booker T, Goldberg, and Ric Flair (sorta, cause they tried hard to bury him).. and both Shane Douglas and Lance Storm would have fit nicely with those eight being the core guys.
For the record.. had I been booking WCW, I would likely have pushed Shane Douglas to the belt (with Candido and Bam Bam backing him), and taken Goldberg off TV for a while as Douglas got over. Have Douglas heel it up (he's great at making people hate him), then have Goldberg be the man that ends his reign. Keeps Goldberg fresh, and makes Douglas a mega heel in WCW.
Oh.. and speaking of me booking WCW and Shane Douglas getting a title shot... I'm pretty sure I directly influenced the results of a WCW Monday Nitro that I booked featuring Shane fairly heavily. Mark Madden had posted on the internet a contest to book Nitro, and I emailed him something. Got no response, but I distinctly remember my ideas being used. Wished I hadn't lost the copy of it I had!

Oh, and back on topic...
Shane Douglas, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Chris Candido teamed up in a losing effort against KroniK and Buff Bagwell on the June 19th, 2000 edition of Monday Nitro.

Yeah Chris Candido goes over it in a funny story only Chris Candido could tell. He and Douglas said that it was thrown together at last minute with no future plans to it.They honestly thought there was no history with the triple threat and only put them together because mngt saw all three hanging out backstage and decided to put them together unknownly that they had a history as a team
