Shawn, he's just held all the important titles that Sting hasn't, really... intercontinental title, world title, wwe title. That's my views on it - until Sting joins WWE, he hasn't really had all that impressive of a career from a "look back and see what I've done" view.

Oh God Sting easily......He was main eventing top shows for NWA when Shawn was running around the AWA. Shawn has great talent but he will always be one of the most over rated wrestlers when judging how "great" someone is

Gotta go with HBK! Sting had a nice run till Hogan came in, then he fell out of the top spot. Hbk has done it all and looked good doing it.
But what a dream match it would have been in their primes.

HBK by a mile. HBK was the WWF's centerpiece in '96 and '97. While Sting was WCW's main babyface in the early 90s he was never trusted to carry the company. It was Flair, even during Sting's title run, then Vader, then Hulk arrived to bury everyone and Sting was shoved aside.
In the ring, Sting often let his enregy get the best of him. A lot like John Cena, he would get so excited that he would have really sloppy matches at times. Also, he often got lost during his interviews, which were rarely good, and resorted to screaming to cover up his misquotes. However, there are two blunders that still come to mind:
He once did an interview where he refered to himself and Luger, repeatedly, as the "Attitudes with Dudes". He also did one where he told Sid not to "let his butt overload his you-know what. He stoped, repeated the same misquote again before bellowing, "You know what I mean." Not main event material, sorry Stinger.

Shawn Michaels, the greatest professional wrestler in the history of the business, in my opinion. He will be remembered as one of the top greats of all time long after he has retired.

HBK by far. Sting, while he did do stints at the top of WCW never really remained there for an extended time and he has had a long career, but hasn't reached the goals are accomplished some of the more prestigious things HBK has.

Sting, by the smallest margin.

I don't even see why anyone would ask this question and say Sting...

The better question is, why ask this on a board that's predominant with so many blind Shawn Michaels fans to begin with?

HBK for sure. Sting went a different path after departing from WWF/WWE.

I'm saying people are more than likely to just say "Shawn Michaels" without bothering to check up on what Sting did.

I'm saying people are more than likely to just say "Shawn Michaels" without bothering to check up on what Sting did. But most ppl would know what HBK because he was with, at the time the more viewed product. At the same time, Sting didn't really do anything that was so extra special other than he was pushed hard and did very well for himself. So it's not blindness, it just based on what product someone was on. Someone could make the argument that Nick Bockwinkel was better than either of them but in terms of someone of the current generation even knowing who Bockwinkel is would be a stretch. So to call them blind is kinda harsh.

The replies so far have been laughable. HBK could'nt lace Sting's boots on his best day. HBK was a rocker or a jobber when Sting was main eventing and having epic matches over seas. Like I've said before..only a handful of people in this business can compare to The Stinger, HBK is NOT one of them.
