SEPTEMBER 8, 2009
Just finished up another one. This time it's the mask from Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. The mask came blank of course and is from the original mold used in the film. When a close friend of mine had a birthday coming up, his fiance got him a blank mask and asked me if I would suprise him by painting it. So technically this is for a customer...only a freebie for the birthday of a close friend
This is one of my favorite styles to paint. I popped it onto my Ruste Dowg latex hood for a few of the pics.
Most know that these masks are quite the hobby of mine. I did a part VI mask once before but ultimately have never been completely satisfied with it. With Scare Fest Horror Convention coming up, I started putting together a new costume. I got a latex under mask from Darkside studios which I think if phenomenal. I modified it slightly just to make seeing and breathing easier without doing anything noticable to the mask itself. I will include pics of it as well for the heck of it. They do a phenomenal job. I am still putting together the rest of the attire, but I decided to give another go on the actual hockey mask and I'm happy with how it turned out. I'll get some pics up of the entire costume when it's finished.
I have three more hockey masks (All part IV masks) that I'm getting ready to work on for orders. I may put those up when I get them done.
If you aren't familiar with my previous masks...

Here are the pics of the new mask. Let me know what you think.
Placed on the undermask BEFORE painting
Painted, weathered, and displayed pics
Thanks for looking. Comments are appreciated.
UPDATE
After seeing my Tom Savini custom, Adrienne King (Alice from the first Friday the 13th) asked if I had any plans on doing a custom Alice figure. I had actually already started it and I finished it up tonight. Here are some bad pics for the time being. This one features an entire head sculpt. I also sculpted the shirt. I had never done an entire head sculpt. It's not something I'm that great at. But I'm satisfied with the figure as a hole. Especially the shirt.
