"A source within the UFC has confirmed to Inside Fights that BJ Penn will likely defend his lightweight title against Diego Sanchez in the main event of UFC 105.
Penn has claimed that he would never fight in the United Kingdom again after earning what he thought was an unacceptable purse for his fight against Joe Stevenson. The internal belief is that the free television show will likely pull in millions of viewers, and that kind of viewer base can help turn Penn and Sanchez into even bigger stars, which will translate into bigger pay per view buyrates for both fighters down the road."

damn you are fast..
I was about to post this.
anyways I am excited about this fight. Before the Florian fight I would have picked Diego over Penn or Florian. But after seeing Penn destroy Kenny...how could I not go with him to win this fight?
it will be a good fight. Diego has never been KO'd or submitted so I expect this to at least go to the 4th round..where I think BJ might actually pull off the sub on Diego.

This is going to be sweet, I'm rooting for Diego, but I don't know, Penn will have alot of confidence going into this fight.

This just makes me want to go to UFC 105 all the more... even though tickets are £166. Looks like I might have to take the hit on this one, depending on what the other fights are, and who is next in line to knock Bisping the out.

I don't think Sanchez will do any better against Penn than Florian did. However, I would like to see Sanchez-Florian II after this fight, since I think it would be a lot closer and a lot more exciting than their first fight.

AWESOME! Free on TV! Kang will fight Bisping and Penn will fight Diego. Not a bad card for free!

Bisping/Kang? Are you ing joking? That's the worst fight Bisping could've been given, and it'd be tough for me as I hate Denis Kang and I hate Michael Bisping. Bit of a massive step down for Michael though... you get Murder KO'd by Dan Henderson, Wandy pulls out because of facial surgery and you get Denis Kang? A man who dominated then got choked by Alan ing Belcher? It wasn't even a full choke... Alan only had half of it properly applied. Usually coming off a loss, you get to fight someone who is actually worth fighting. If Bisping beat Kang, that'd barely move him up from square one. I am looking forward to James Wilkes/Matt Brown and Damarques Johnson/Peter Sobotta though.

I dont hate him. But I do agree that its a huge step down in opponent for Bisping going from Silva to Kang...

This show's really turning out to have a great card. While I don't think Diego Sanchez deserves a title shot, I will get some measure of depraved enjoyment from seeing BJ Penn absolutely murder him.

Have you seen him before? He just looks like a complete... yoghurt. A total nonce if you ask me. Every time I see his face I just want to run up and kick him in the bollocks.

So by his looks, you hate him? Interesting. hell yes... you never saw a fighter like that? Where no matter how skilled they were and even if you never heard them say a word you just assume they are a huge douche? I thought that of Kos for the longest time. His damn nose twitch and his shirley temple hair get on my nerves. I was ignorant enough to hate him for that for the longest time. But I think he is a pretty good fighter now and respect how much he has improved.. But I definitely get what Wf's Resident intellectually- disabled person was saying. anyways that is definitely a step down for Bisping. I hope this isn't a sign of the UFC going back to spoon-feeding him fighters to boost up his victory count so that everytime he headlines at the O2 arena all of his fans think he is UNSTOPPABLE. I hope this is just a case of the UFC being like "F***, we have nobody for this guy to fight!"...what with Wandy being out for a year and Maia and Marquardt having a fight soon.

There's Alan Belcher, Kendall Grove and probably Yoshihiro Akiyama that are more useful than Denis Kang. Admittedly they all fought at UFC 100 but UFC 105 would be enough time to recover and train... I mean BJ Penn went 4 rounds with Kenny Florian at UFC 101. If Yushin Okami wasn't fighting Chael Sonnen at 104 then I'd have thrown his name in too.

Still think UFC 106 would get about million more views than 105 would get for free, not to mention a card that wont bore me beside Penn/Sanchez, but we all know since its in UK, it automatically goes to Spike for tape delay, BS, but thats the deal when dealing with different time zones.
