What a fight! Nog vs. Couture so far IMO is one of the best fights of the year. Although most of the fight was one-sided, the heart Randy showed was just amazing. If the Nog that showed up last night, would have fought Mir it would have been a totally different fight. I thought for sure Couture would have been finished a couple times but he just kept coming back, it was like watching Fitch vs. GSP all over again. I would have LOVED for the fight to be a title fight, to be able to see those extra 2 rounds. Props to both fighters.
Overall I did absolutely terrible in my predictions. I got the Nate fight right, even got the first round KO correct, but other than that I did embarressing.

I'm very happy Marquardt won. I have been saying this for months...I think he is the only one who could give Silva some problems. I don't even think Dan Henderson will be able to. I'm kind of torn on the rematches for Silva though... I don't want to see him finish out his career with two rematches.(assuming he gets through both guys)
I was completely satisfied with Brandon Vera winning. The guy seems dedicated again, I want to see him fight a big name at 205.
I totally did not see Jardine being KO'd. Especially from Thiago Silva. But good for Thiago, watching the UFC countdown show he seemed intent on rebounding from the Lyoto loss.
I didn't see Nog winning either. But I think it is awesome that he still has a lot of fight left in him. His fight with Mir looked like he was pretty damn close to retirement.

Jardine makes Liddell look like he has an iron chin.
Couture showed me he still has a lot of heart, but you can tell he doesnt have that much left in him. I say one more loss and hes hanging it up. Mad props to couture though i thought he was for sure going to tap out the first time, then i thought Nog was gunna get the TKO but Couture still stayed in the fight. Then i thought Nog was going to tap him out AGAIN but he didnt lock in the triangle. Couture was in trouble so many times and never gave up.

Doesn't have that much left? He couldn't be finished.

Damn! Just about every fight I picked was wrong. I wish Captain America could have shocked the world again, but Nog's lead jab was dominant in the fight. Noguiera looked absolutely great tonight and I believe a Mir rematch would come out quite different next time around. (considering Nog had staph and flu like symptoms) Maia got KTFO. Simple as that. Marquardt knew Maia's stand up game was not that great and watched for maia's mid kicks and it payed off. Hopefully Maia can recover and return.

I don't understand how Randy Couture loses to one of the best HW's in the world and people say "he doesn't have much left"...
that is ridiculous. Randy has a couple of fights left in him. I hope he goes back down to LHW.

My prelim picks were dead on, but my main card picks were appaling. Got Nog and Thiago on the main card, and all but McCully/Russow on the prelim card.

He has heart, which is the only reason he even lasted the whole 3 with Nog. When was Nog ever in serious trouble? Couture could of easily lost 4 times that fight. And people think couture has a shot against Fedor....LMAO. He needs to go back down to LHW.

Griffin has nothing left, he lost 2 in a row.
Jardine has nothing left, he lost 2 in a row.
Leben has nothing left, he lost 2 in a row.
Damn, UFC is going down!

Griffin has nothing left, he lost 2 in a row. Jardine has nothing left, he lost 2 in a row. Leben has nothing left, he lost 2 in a row. Damn, UFC is going down! Couture is 90 years old. Griffin, jardine, and leben arent even as old as him combined. Just get off his ing nuts and stop living in the past, couture is way past his prime. He was at his best 10+ years ago, when he was 80. People just need to get over the whole fact that he "still has it in him" just because he won the HW title. He didnt even earn that title shot to begin with. If he didnt beat sylvia people would be like "OMGZ RANDY JUST NEEDZ TO GIVE UP, HES 44 AND HE LOST, HES DONE. WHY DID HE EVEN FIGHT FOR THE TITLE, HES TO OLD.." All the couture fans just want to believe he still can do it and want him to just because of his age and they want to see him overcome the odds. Im a fan of couture. I love his heart and what he has done for the company to make the ufc where it is today, but to say he still has it in him is ridiculous. If anyone else lost two in a row at 46 theyd be fired. I think Dana will never "fire" him because of the fact that chuck, tito, and randy helped put the ufc on the map.

And im so sorry that i seemed to hurt your feelings with what i said about Couture, thats just MY opinion...everyone has their own. Mine just happens to be that Couture should retire soon. I just dont want to see you talking poop when the rumored silva/couture fight happens and silva just simply beats couture's ass. You can quote that if you want. Im gunna drop it now and stop arguing. Now who wants to see a healthy Nog and Mir rematch?

Wait...if Randy is in over his head by continuing fighting, then why was Nog unable to finish him? Why did Randy give Lesnar the most trouble, other then his Mir loss. I do agree that he should prob drop down in weight, and I agree that it was absolutely stupid thinking he had a chance against Fedor.
But you cant say that because of his recent performances, he should retire.

They're all people who were cool in 06 (to me). Jardine is a person I love watching get knocked out Leban annoyed me on Ultimate Fighter Couture is interesting, but he's not the huge money making star anymore compared to other up and comers. He's great to watch and hope he overcomes the odds, there is still value to his name, but he's not a huge reason to watch UFC anymore

I don't think a Mir/Nog rematch is necessary.
I think Nog deserves the next shot at the belt after Carwin.
Let Mir fight Couture or even Kongo since apparently Mir thinks his standup is better than Kongos.

I know..and Mir said that he would beat Kongo on the feet.
I know he is probably playing mindgames to try to get inside of Kongos head because it is obvious Kongo has a very weak ground game but he would absolutely kill Mir on the feet.

I would love to see Mir/Kongo, and Nog/Cain. I only say that because since Carwin is now fighting Lesnar, Cain has been left out of the loop.
