Hey guys, I got to go the Matt "The Terror" Serra meet and greet today at the New York State Fair. I was worried there would be a massive line and when I showed up an hour early there was nobody there lol. I walked the fair for a bit and started to see people with cage fighter, Affliciton and Tapout shirts so I knew it was getting close to be time. So I went back over and was about 3rd in line and around 1pm the Security said he was in traffic and would be there shortly. So I listened to a few idiots ramble about Serra and how he should fight Brock Lesnar and I just had to laugh...I mean these guys had no clue what they were talking about. I heard one say that Serra should coach TUF and I just wanted to turn around and knock him out. So as we waited one of the promoters who was forming a line for people approached me and asked to see the Round 5 MMA Serra figure I had brought to get signed and she totally marked out and told me Matt was going to flip when he saw it. Matt finally arrived and just looked at all of us and said "WOW"...."How long have you all been here?" A few people answered and He said he was totally taken back and floored by the crowd that was there to see him. I got my turn to meet Matt and told him how awesome it was to have a huge UFC star from our state representing us and I thanked him for beating GSP and taking his title back at UFC 69 lol. He laughed and said he would love to get a chance to do it again someday but he has been trying to regroup and spend time with his baby girl that was born earlier this year. I asked who his next fight would be against and he said that he is in talks with UFC and a match is almost finalized but it will be at Lightweight if all goes as planned. I was happy to hear that as I think Lightweight suits Serra much better than Welterweight. I showed him the Round 5 figure and he goes, "OMG No way dude!" "I have to tell you, seeing this figure makes me so happy because when I was little I was so big into GI Joes and always thought, I hope someday I have my very own figure." "And now I have one and I just can't believe the likeness!....I mean look at this freakin' thing! It even has my hair line down to a T!" I just started laughing and agreed with him and told him I thought it looked awesome and couldn't wait for his UFC Jakks figure to be released. He then said, "Hey, they (Jakks) won't be able to put me in a more stacked line up then this figure (Round 5) is in for this series right here...." as he turns it over and looks at Shogun, Hendo, Cung Le and Gina Carano he stops smirks and says, "I mean look at this lineup, it has Gina Carano now who wouldn't want to be along side her!?" So he laughed and then thanked me for coming and told me it was good to meet someone his own height when I got my picture with him. I actually think I am taller after looking at the pic and I am only 5'5'' on a good day. And Im pretty sure Serra is claimed to be 5'6'' in profile and bios all over lol. I think he is truely 5'4''. But overall awesome signing and he was a super nice guy who really cares about the fans. I love how after meeting Hamill and Serra, the amount of respect for their fans is so much more than 90% of the gay WWE Wrestlers who think they are above and better than you when you approach them or go to a signing. Anyways enjoy the pics. Thanks for looking! Me and "The Terror" Figure and Photo Signed (also gave out UFC Patches to those he met)

f***..I wish I could meet somoene...I live right f***ing next to Huntington Beach and I have NEVER SEEN TITO...but my girlfriend saw him at disneyland...my ex saw him on main street...a couple of acquaintances said they have seen him at the gym.
anyways that is cool. I think Matt Serra is a good fighter who should probably go down to LW again. He is just far too small for WW. He has extremely heavy hands so I would love to see what he could do at LW.

Yo sandy Tito is at Sutra every weekend!
I don't think that going to an autograph signing session constitutes as meeting someone. It's just pretty lame. I have trained with many UFC and Pride stars and I think getting autographes from them is lame!
If you happened to run into them somewhere and shoot the crapthat is a different story. But waiting in line for three hours to get them to sign your action figure is pretty funny.

Im PRETTY SURE that when you go to a signing....you MEET the person doing the signing so your an idiot. I was able to talk to Matt Hamill for a decent amount of time at his signing and converse for a while. Im sure I will do the same with Serra and I have never waited in line for 3 hours for a signing or I wouldn't go. Why do you have to be a dick? Yet you come here to brag that you train with UFC stars like your the next Ultimate fighter....now THAT is funny. You were better off leaving that part out.

No not trying to be a dick just think it's funny how people think an autograph and a picture constitutes as meeting someone. You see when I read the title to your thread I thought I was going to read about how maybe you were going to train with Matt or maybe grab some dinner with matt or he was a freind of the family, not go get an autograph at the Mall from matt. I'm not bragging about training with UFC and Pride fighters, they're just regular people too. I've just been lucky to train with them. I'm far from being on Ultimate fighter. Still just an undefeated amature(small brag ).

That is just odd to me. I know when people I know meet someone at autograph signings the are genuinly interested to meet everyone their. Go ask your buddy's you train with what they think of autograph sessions. And if they are happy to MEET their fans.

Serra's a cool dude. One of my friends is good friends with him. I've hung out with him a few times, you'll definitely enjoy the signing.

So FANS that have NO interest in training in MMA, yet are still huge FANS of the sport, shouldn't be excited to MEET (not befriend) some of their favorite mixed martial arts stars? Really? ...oh.

Well I've had the pleasure of living in Vegas, So Cal, and HAwaii, 3 MMA Hotbeds!! Coleman, Randleman, Baroni,MAyhem, Mir all trained at my gym in Vegas. I got to roll and spar with most of them. Chuck just randomly popped up at my current gym a few times when he's in town, but he only showed me a few techniques. Most of the early Ultimate Fighter contestants where there too. Stevenson, Grove, War MAchine where just members at the time. Others worked out with us when they were in town like Swick Quarry, most of the guys from the season 1 cast would pop up from time to time. Been to Chute Boxe seminar too. Back then THey where all still together. Rua Brothers, Anderson.....I almost fainted when Wanderlei showed up late. LOL I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting

rule # 1. Never Lie about training at certain camps. Especially since 3 or 4 of the members on here (including myself) actually do train.

Guys if I was going to lie I would say that I trained with Aleks and Fedor at his outdoor playground in Russia, you know the one where they spar on the basketball court and hit that big tire with the hammer and do pull up's on the jungle gym.
