The Daytona Beach-Journal spoke with Dixie Carter about the new deal with Spike TV. Discussion of Jeff Jarrett came up, and Carter started that he would be back sooner rather than later. Jarrett is working on TNA projects from home.
The Baltimore Sun also spoke with Carter. Here are some highlights:
On Kurt Angle: "I can talk about it to some degree because it's an ongoing legal case. I was briefed on the details of what happened, and I also know that people are innocent until proven guilty. And I think just like most sports franchises these days, they let the legal system do what they do best and you await the outcome. And that's what we did."
On Her Creative Control: "I've had more and more input as of late, but I'm also the type of person who puts people in place, and as long as structure is being followed and we're seeing positive results, I like to let people try to do what they do best. I don't pretend to be a wrestling booker, but I do know when we're having success, because a lot of other parts of the business are impacted by that, as well as our relationship with the network. We've made a lot of changes this year over the last six or seven months and we're starting to really see positive changes in ratings, and we're just ready for those to continue to grow."

Ratings have improved. People look at the number we get (1.2-1.3) and don't look and see the viewer increase. TNA ratings are increasing in # of people viewing the show.
Also, SpikeTV must be happy with ratings. 3 more years on Spike & ten 1 hour specials. Must be doing something right..

No, it's said on dirt sheets that if Jarrett remained in power Angle would leave. Jarrett has zero power now.

Have PPV buys increased? Ya know... the thing that actually matters.

10 one hour specials? They have a 2 hour show.....
What the hell are they going to do with 10 one hour shows over the span of 3 years? They have a primetime slot, on a fairly popular channel, and are still making very little headway with ratings.
If I don't even bother to tune in to their show when it's regularly on, why would I tune in on a different night for only an hour?

I don't want Dixie in charge Might I suggest a time machine then? Yeah.. take one back in 2002 and make sure Panda Energy doesn't buy into TNA since that's the only way Dixie won't be in charge.

Ratings may be going up, we don't get exact number of viewers we just get the rating number. And isn't each 0.1 like 100, 000 viewers?

She said in that interview on tnawrestling.com that TNA was beating all three of WWE's shows in UK ratings, I for one am extremely happy about that.

She said in that interview on tnawrestling.com that TNA was beating all three of WWE's shows in UK ratings, I for one am extremely happy about that. Yes, iMPACT! beats RAW, SmackDown and ECW here in the UK. But you've got to remember that Bravo (which iMPACT! airs on) is a free channel, however Sky Sports (which RAW and ECW air on) is subscription only. Now, it seems that they've moved SmackDown to Sky One, which is a free channel.
