The year is 2005. June of 2005, to be more to the point. We are in front of Viking Hall, best known to pro wrestling fans as the "Arena". It is a calm day (by Philadelphia standards) when one Vincent Kennedy McMahon steps to a podium in front of the historic building.
VKM: Greetings, ladies and gentlemen, and members of the press all the same. I am Vincent McMahon, the owner of the World Wrestling Entertainment promotion. I am here to discuss the future of Extreme Championship Wrestling, which has had a bit of a boom with both the best selling DVD, the "Rise and Fall of ECW", as well as their pay per view recently, "One Night Stand". ECW as a promotion has a long and storied history. A lot of it occurred here in this very building. From it's breakaway from the National Wrestling Alliance, where it was known as Eastern Championship Wrestling, to it's more commonly hailed era as Extreme Championship Wrestling, where it had both a national television and world wide pay per view deal. ECW's star burned out in January of 2001. A company that so many had enjoyed watching, working for, or just generally being a part of the almost cult like atmosphere was no more. Soon, many of the ECW wrestlers would go on to become WWE superstars. When the idea first came up to hold a one night reunion show, I was against it. However, the producing of that DVD, and then it's meteoric sales figures caused me to reconsider. One Night Stand became a reality, and with it, a huge economical windfall for the WWE. And now, here to give you the updates on the promotion, is it's voice Joey Styles.
A suited Joey Styles steps to the podium, as Vince steps to the side. Styles then pulls a piece of paper out of his suit jacket, and places it on said podium.
Styles: (Clearly reading) Good afternoon, my name is Joey Styles, and I am the head play by play voice for the Extreme Championship...
Styles stops reading, and looks at Vince, who glares back at him. Styles then takes the obviously prepared speech, and crumbles it up, to a huge roar of applause from those gathered for the press conference. Styles then continues...
Styles: See, this prepared speech thing doesn't work for me. I am Joey Styles, the voice of the greatest wrestling company in history, and as of this morning, paperwork was filed in the court in the state of Connecticut that resurrects that promotion! As of 11:36 a.m. this morning, ECW LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVES!
A loud roar of applause from the gathered attendees, and a familiar chant erupts...
Fans: ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW! ECW!
Styles: Not only has ECW been resurrected, but ladies and gentleman, I give you the new and former owner of Extreme Championship Wrestling. I give you all Mr. Paul E. Heyman!
Styles steps back from the podium, and shakes the hand of the man who once was and is now again his boss. Paul steps to the podium, and the fans greet him with the same chant that greeted him at "One Night Stand"
Fans: Thank you, Paul E! Thank you Paul E! Thank you Paul E!
Heyman: As you can all probably figure, I am a busy man these days, so I will keep this brief. I feel the need to thank all of the fan who have given me a second chance to relive my dream. This Friday, we return to cable television, as at 9 P.M. on Spike TV, ECW will be on television live here from the "ECW Arena", with the main event as a rematch of the final ECW pay per view, as Steve Corino, Justin Credible and the Sandman will face each other in three way dance. Thank you, and we'll see you Friday night.
The scene fades here, but the following lines comes up,"Like the Phoenix", the screen goes black, before "So Too Shall We Rise". Again a black screen, and then "ECW returns to TV this Friday on Spike" before going black again.

Ladies and gentleman, I am back. Here's hoping you guys enjoy the presser, and very soon, my return to the world of booking as ECW on Spike TV #1 comes your way.
The matches for the show will be coming to you shortly as you.
