I am wanting to upgrade my desktop computer and have been shopping around for a new one and looking for suggestions. I don't need anything real fancy as all I really do is browse the internet, listen to music, and play poker online. I am wanting to spend between $300-$800. I was looking into the new Dell studio computers but just not real sure right now and need some advice. Thanks

Anything eMachines is beastly. I'd go with that.

Just build your own. You can build it for around $300 if you just want a decent basic computer. Newegg always has combo deals so you might want to check them out.

Anything eMachines is beastly. I'd go with that. They're cheap but while they're cheap they sadly don't last long. I've had 2 emachines computers, and I'm fairly certain it's nothing I did but both had extreme hardware failures. The first, the power button spring wore out and wouldn't turn on, nothing big. But the second, the wires were faulty and caused a small fire. Besides me, two of my friends have also had issues with them. I recommend Acer, they're affordable and they have great customer service.

Dell.com's outlet store has some great deals on refurbished desktops and laptops.

HP > Dell. Just saying. Dell's are crap IMO. I'd build my own though. I'm waiting for Windows 7 to come out so I can build mine. I already have several parts for it. It's going to be very, very awesome.
