been in more than one organisation, but for this particular situation, it was WWF, and like i said, during 90's

The only thing that comes to mind is Pedro Morales. He was subbing for an injured Roddy Piper on an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event. Morales was set to take on The Iron Sheik when Piper came hobbling down to ringside & defeated the Sheik in under 2 minutes.

Im gonna tell you.
It was Chris Candido. He was skip in the the 4 way tag match at summerslam 96.
He had an extremely badly damaged neck, to the point he needed to wear a neck brace. He admitted in a shoot interview that he should have stayed at home, but he didnt let on to management about the problem, before the match, JR saw him, said "what the hell's happened?, do NOT tag in", so he stood on the apron for the entire match.

I believe The Islanders took on The Young Stallions in a 2/3 falls match, but Roma was injured or something and The Islanders won in two straight falls...haven't seen it in a while.
