So I am not a big gamer. I tried UFC out tonight fo XBox360. I suck. Cant get any more plain.
My biggest issues seem to be when I get taken to the ground. I cant seem to find a way back up, unless my opponent lets me up. Any suggestions?
Also, everytime I try and take someone down, they block it. Anything I can do there?
My skill level is that I can win about 50% of the fights on the easiest level against the computer. Thats how bad I am. If its a fight that is mostly striking, I ok. As soon as I go down.....I go down.

Have to played the tutorials? Those help a lot with teaching you most of the basic controls.

The right stick is the key.
When trying to take someone down, repeatedly flick the right stick forward. When trying to get up, flick the right stick again. When trying to get someone off of you and back up on your feet, turn the right stick and flick, you should repeatedly change positions and eventually get out of it, unless the guy you're taking on is awesome.

I appreciate the tips. I did use the tutorial, as I thought it would help. Unfortunately, some of things they ask me to do I cannot.

The tips were great. I have greatly improved.
However, I still cant seem to be able to take anyone down. In fact, half the time I try it, they seem to take me down. Also, when I am get full mounted, I am screwed. I cant seem to find a way out.

Taking down an opponent takes a bit of skill, when they're just about to punch and you attempt a takedown you'll get the takedown and if you just attempt one when they're neutral just keep using the right stick my man. And when full mounted, you can either press the right stick to attempt a counter into a submission (which is almost impossible so don't try it) or you can spin the right stick around so you attempt to flip him over (if you're facing a skilled guy on the ground he'll likely reverse that and keep you mounted but most of the time, you should be able to counter it) I started off only punching and kicking my way through but if you're good on the ground game you'll be set for sure.

I am in career mode right now. I was doing really well. 11-2 and then I faced Lesnar. I was kicking and hitting and landing. He was missing. Then he takes me down. Mounts me and annihilates me in 3 punches for KO. I had nothing. I couldnt do anything to get him off me.

Imagine the right stick is a clock.Move the right stick from 10 - 3, and then hopefully you will be sitting on him so it looks like they are spooning. Hold the right stick to one side for a few seconds, and then do 10 - 3 again. Then either use your new position or click the left stick to get up.
