Got this on mmanews.com This has pretty much been said after Marquardt won against Maia but here it is straight from Henderson
"I think I'm the one guy that poses enough dangers [to Silva] style-wise," Henderson said. "If I were his manager, I'd be trying not to have him fight me as well. I know that Anderson Silva is really trying not to fight me. It's obvious."
Henderson said if the UFC came to him with a bout against Marquardt, he would turn it down and seek challenges at light heavyweight.
"I think Marquart's right in line for a title shot as well, but I feel I've earned that already," Henderson said. "That's a fight that more than likely will happen in the future, but I think right now, from the UFC's standpoint, they shouldn't be having me and Nate fight each other. They're going to get stuck without any new opponents for Anderson Silva. Silva is the only fight that interests me at 185."
I am kind of glad Henderson is saying this. Maybe it will motivate Silva. I really would love to see Marquardt vs. Henderson somewhere down the line though.

Hendo sounds pretty confident. I like that, I hope Silva will take a rematch with Dan, and I agree, I wouldn't want to fight anyone but Silva at this point. Hendo should get a shot at the belt and could pose a decent threat to Silva and hopefully learned from mistakes in the first fight. If you remember, Hendo beat Silva's ass in the first round of their fight, so don't count him out. He got Silva down and took that round.

I love Hendo... But come on now...
The reason he doesn't want to fight him probably has more to do with potential PPV revenue than it does a "fear" of fighting him.

I love Hendo... But come on now... The reason he doesn't want to fight him probably has more to do with potential PPV revenue than it does a "fear" of fighting him. exactly. I know a majority of people think that Henderson has got this in the bag but honestly look at the first fight again. I know controlling the first round is amazing since nobody has ever won a round from Silva in the UFC before but saying Silva was getting his ass kicked in the first round is going a bit far. That is like saying that the lay-n-pray style of Rashads first few UFC fights were him kicking ass. and I know a lot of people will say Henderson is the clear #1 contender but honestly who did he beat at 185? He murdered an overrated Bisping(which I loved), he beat Rich Franklin(former MW champ)...but he beat him at 205.(decision) and Palhares(decision) meanwhile who has Marquardt beat at 185 since losing to Silva. Jeremy Horn(submission) Martin Kampmann(TKO) Wilson Gouveia(TKO) Demian Maia(KO) so with that being said I think Marquardt deserves the shot..if not a shot than I think he should definitely fight Henderson...sucks Henderson doesn't want to fight him though. I think there is clear favoritism within the MW division. Wanderlei decides to drop down to 185..a little trashtalking goes on between them and the UFC was about to sign the match if Wanderlei beat Franklin at a catchweight...it didn't happen. Then the UFC was crossing their damn fingers that Bisping won against Henderson so they could setup Bisping/Silva in a damn soccer stadium or something of that magnitude because Bisping is the UFC's biggest star over in the U.K. It didn't happen. So now they decide to give Henderson the title shot while guys like Marquardt and Okami have had a nice little streak going on in their favor but since they aren't as marketable as the aforementioned fighters they get lost in the shuffle. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Henderson/Silva happens...and then lets say Silva wins again they completely forget about Marquardt and setup a fight for Silva with somebody else..like a GSP or another LHW.

Sorry, I like Silva and everything, but the things he has said over and over make me believe he doesn't want to fight Henderson at all.

I don't think Anderson Silva wants to fight Dan Henderson again, either. But I get the impression it has more to do with his search for "interesting fights" and his growing boredom with the middleweight division.
I have a hard time believing that the confident, borderline arrogant "Spider" we've seen over the past year is afraid to fight anyone, particularly a guy he's already beaten. I do think Henderson has a shot at winning the rematch, but I don't think that's a good enough reason to accuse Silva of ducking him. If Silva is ducking Henderson, it's probably more out of his preference to not keep fighting the same guys over and over again at middleweight.

If you're the champion of a weight class, defend your belt against the number 1 contender. Henderson is clearly the #1 contender, Nate is a close 2nd. If Silva is so confident, why not go down and fight Henderson??
I know he wants the big money against 205'ers, but everyone is tied up right now. Rashad, Rampage, Tito Ortiz, Shogun, Machida(won't fight him, but still) all have upcoming fights. Wanderlei is going to 185 and no one wants to see a 3rd fight with Rich, no matter the weight. Jardine just got KTFO'd, and Silva ran through Forrest like a hot knife through butter. Really, he's only got Thiago Silva and an outside chance that Couture comes down to 205. Personally, a Hendo/Silva II is more interesting than Silva/Silva(although that would be a cool PPV name. UFC 109: Silva vs. Silva). Therefore, its a perfect time to defend that belt again.
What I'm saying is, if you're the champion of a weight class, defend your belt consistently. The UFC needs to have constant contenders in line for the belt. Hendo/Nate fight would just eliminate one. If anything, do Okami/Nate and Silva/Hendo. Say what you want about Penn jumping up in weight, but he's always defended his belt when there was a top contender there. When he went up for GSP, there weren't nearly as many contenders for his belt as there are for Silva's. There was really just Ken-Flo. Silva's got Hendo, Nate and Okami.
I'm not saying he's scared to fight Hendo, but he certainly doesn't seem to be anxious to be fighting him again.

I'm a big fan of Hendo, and I'd love to see him fight Silva again. I don't absolutely think he would win, but I think he has a chance. Hell, I thought Forrest had a chance, but three punches did him in. That was very disappointing, hopefully Dan can hang in there.

I like Hendo, he seems like a pretty straight-up guy, who just keeps his mouth shut, and gets on with the job. Wicked right hand too!
