This whole match is pretty damn intense, considering Shane's made his name off of making memorable spots on rare occasions not tons of punishment all in one match.
I'm sure you all remember Angle's use of the set, but this match makes me wonder what lead to such a violent clash? Did it have anything to do with Stephanie?

Are you talking about kayfabe wise or in real life, because in real life I am unaware of any issues between them...
In Kayfabe, Shane interrupted Angle's Olympic ceremony on RAW and Angle was furious.

Umm.....no? Kurt and Shane were just playing emotions. And I think Kurt was a little frustrated since he almost broke his tailbone and he couldn't put Shane through the glass.

In Kayfabe, Shane interrupted Angle's Olympic ceremony on RAW and Angle was furious. This was the initial buildup. If you watch King of the Ring 2001, Kurt Angle in the weeks building up kept saying he was going to be the first ever to be a repeat winner of the King of the Ring and was in the King of the Ring tournament. Kurt Angle however lost because of interference by Shane McMahon. Shane actually helped him win the first match, then cost him the second so that Kurt would have to wrestle two full matches before he had to face himself later in the night. |
