From PWInsider:
When ROH moved their TV to Monday nights, they got the attention of WWE. Bryan Danielson had been on the radar for some time, going back to a dark match he worked for WWE. Several months back, WWE was looking to bring him in as Brian Kendrick's tag team partner, but due to Kendrick being released, that didn't happen. ROH knew that Danielson may be leaving, due to not signing a new contract with the company. He has been de-emphasized in ROH angles, and used to groom and put over Tyler Black.
As far as Nigel McGuinness goes, WWE has been aware of him. He was in Ohio Valley Wrestling for a while, but not under a WWE developmental deal. TNA was very interested in McGuinness, but at the time he was not available due to his contract, so TNA signed up Doug Williams. TNA was considering McGuinness lately for another role, but WWE beat them to the punch.
WWE creative members have been instructed to watch the ROH on HDNet program and come up with ideas for the people that they feel are "WWE Worthy". Some ROH talents are under contract, but there are some that have deals that will allow them to give 30-days notice if they are offered a deal.
With Danielson and McGuinness leaving, ROH finds themselves in a position similar to old ECW. September 25th in New York will be a new chapter for the company as they look to move on without two of their biggest stars.
I'm so glad McGuinness didn't go to TNA.

McGuinness and Danielson are great but WWE should be raiding TNA talent. Vince should be doing everything possible to get AJ Styles. LAX, Beer Money, and MCMG should be offered contracts to beef up the tag division. Picking on ROH has it's benefits (sign Davey, Hero, and Aries please) but they aren't exactly a threat.

I say WWE should take Chris hero, The Briscoes, Beer Money, Davey Richards, LAX, and Samoa Joe.

WWE, is proving that their own developmental territory is absolute CRAP. Having to raid ROH's roster just shows that for years they have not been able to develop any new stars. Honestly though I cant blame them. Both Danielson and Mcguiness among many others are ready right now for the grind of the WWE schedule. I actually would not be suprised if WWE gave ROH a little kickback for taking some of its talent. In fact honestly the WWE should maybe form a parthnership of sorts with ROH since it seems like a more realistic and professional company than FCW. FCW could be like A ball and ROH more like AAA.

I'll just be pissed off, if they send McGuinness down to "development" for several months - even worse, a year... he's ready for TV now..

Great post, thank you, mention of what WWE has done to the developmental system grates on me like nothing else... I wish McGuinness the best of luck, last I heard his arm was starting to atrophy due to injury.

I think that now they have realised that there development is not as good as they thought it was and are searching for talent. But the idea of taking away from another show on the same night is interesting. But i think that to get rid of the real threat they need to work on TNA.

Wait, how are they raiding it? Danielson was set to leave the company anyway. They only "stole" Nigel.

If you think about ROH stars are more experienced than the newer guys at FCW

I think it's about damn time that the biggest wrestling company in the world started using it's status to find the best talent from everywhere.
Seriously Vince, you have the money, buy the talent!

I'll just be pissed off, if they send McGuinness down to "development" for several months - even worse, a year... he's ready for TV now.. To be honest, he's not. Just because someone is successful on an independent level does not mean he can jump onto WWE TV. The time that Punk spent in OVW was very helpful to develop him and prepare him for the WWE way. Taking guys right from a smaller level and throwing them on mainstream wwe tv gets the effect that most of the new ecw initiative guys have. There not ready for tv and the development just helps for what WWE wants.

Yea like it was stated above..
WWE raiding ROH is proof that they can no longer develop the stars..
If WWE ever partnered up with ROH idk if that would be a great move for WWE or a bad move for ROH..
oh well..
