UFC 103; September 19 - Dallas
Rich Franklin vs. Vitor Belfort - Such a hard fight to call. Belfort has looked great in his last couple of fights..even though he hasn't really fought anyone worth mentioning. Franklin has had two VERY hard fights with Henderson and Wanderlei..both fights were amazing and FOTY candidates for sure. Franklin comes up with some great gameplans but Vitor has been working with Couture, and Vitors skills plus Randys direction could really be something special. I say Vitor wins by TKO in the 2nd.
Mirko Filipovic vs. Junior Dos Santos - I always have to go with anyone that trains with Big Nog, Lil Nog, and Anderson Silva. CroCop is a great fighter but hasn't looked amazing in a long time. The last glimpse of the fighter from Pride was in his fight with Kongo...the first round before all of the nutchecks. Dos Santos gots this by KO.
Paul Daley vs. Martin Kampman - Kampann is crazy. I think he would have beat Swick if the fight wasn't cancelled.
Josh Koscheck vs. Frank Trigg - I have always enjoyed Trigg. Not only in his fights but his interviews as well as his commentary. I think Kos is more skilled but this is a fight I think Trigg will win based on how dedicated he seems to be about making something worth remembering this time around in the UFC. Trigg by UD.
Hermes Franca vs. Tyson Griffin - Hard fight to call. Franca has unorthodox strikes, big BIG power in his hands, and great submissions...Griffin has a more refined style of boxing and amazing wrestling. I could see him using the same gameplan as Sherk on this one. FOTN right here.

I really wish I could afford to go! It's in Dallas, only three hours away from me, but I can't afford to go up for the event.
I'm pulling for Vitor, he's always been one of my favorites. His standout moment to me is when he demolished Wandi in less than a minute. He had a great fight with Randy a few years ago and has been doing well his last few fights.
I'm up in the air on Cro Cop and Santos. I think either has a chance in this one, but I see Santos maybe taking it by decision or early knockout.
Kampman is my pick against Daley. I haven't seen much of either, but I've been more impressed with Kampman.
I'm pulling Trigg against Koscheck. I like both fighters, but I think if Trigg has rededicated himself, he may just mean business and I see him doing well.
I enjoy both Franca and Griffin, but I'll have to give it to Griffin. He's very technical with his wrestling and very conditioned. I agree with Sandy on possible FOTN.

Cro Cop vs. Junior Dos Santos- KO. I think this fight will end early either way.

I'm going with Franklin by a razor thin decision. Dos Santos/Cro Cop is going to end in a knockout for sure. I hope Cro Cop wins by LHK murder, but Dos Santos can pull off the win here. Trying to pick the winner of this fight for my UFC Fantasy picks is killing me. My mind says Cro Cop, but I'm getting a feeling that Dos Santos might take it. Hopefully its a good fight while it lasts.

That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing Vitor beat Franklin either. I like both guys a lot, and will be happy with either winning. It really does kill me though, to pick Koscheck over Trigg. Kos has to be one of my least favorite fighters, but the guy can get it done. We all know Trigg is suspect to the rear naked choke, and I see Josh locking one in for the tapout..

MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view)
Vitor Belfort vs. Rich Franklin- Franklin by split decision: In my opinion, it will be FOTN. But I don't pick against 'Ace'. I think it will be back and forth, but Franklin will come up with the difference in the final round.
Junior Dos Santos vs. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic- Dos Santos by 2nd round TKO. To me, this isn't close. Anyone see what Dos Santos did to Werdum? Cro Cop is far from the feared fighter he used to be.
Paul Daley vs. Martin Kampmann- Daley by 2nd round KO: I'm surprised to see the few people who have picked Daley. Not only will he win, it will be the KO of the night. Daley puts his name on the UFC map in a big way tonight.
Frank Trigg vs. Josh Koscheck- Koscheck by unanimous decision. I can't see Trigg giving Koscheck much of a run here. Plus, Koscheck is going to be fired up to rebound from his last loss.
Hermes Franca vs. Tyson Griffin- Griffin by unanimous decision

YEA! I called it KOS via TKO and Daley via TKO! Ive been a big fan of Daley for a while now! KOS is my favorite WW. Now all I need is a KO or TKO from Cro Cop and Vitor and im good haha!.... Oh and so far ive been right on all but 2! |
